3 weeks and what a difference in seeds.

1st up Sour Crack mephisto. Sprouted 22 days ago on Feb 6

The seeds were 3 of a pack of 7 ordered from Jan 4, 2017 discountcannabisseeds and delivered at the end of the month. Even the best one is nothing compared to my Jamaican Berry SuperAuto Feminised Seeds ordered from Seedsman on Jan 24 and delivered sometime before the order from Discount Seed.

One day in spouting does not explain the differece. I know the SC and JB are different strains and indica vs sativa, but still. The SC tabled B is like a miniature. I noticed after the problem that the seeds were dated 2015. With this being the beginning of 2017 they could be anywhere from 1-2 years old. I won’t even discuss what a disappointment C has been.

The saddest part is that I changed the reservoirs for both the SC and the JB on the 24th and found them all wilting the next morning. (My Tomato and Cucumber that stayed in the smaller container are thriving. )

I added 10 ml / gallon of water max pro and the SC is OK, now 3 days later but one of the JB is continuing to wilt I had added a second airstone under the worst and then moved it in the 5 gallon with just RO and the water max. Later added H2O2 and then some light nutrients. I don’t know what else to do.

Lighting was very similar on all - 600 W MH until recently when the worst wilting JB was moved to the 5 Gallon and to the side.

Well let's start with the basics do you have a pH pen and a TDS meter?

Next what are your res Temps?

How about the temperature of your room in general including humidity?

If you have good res temps and adequate air bubbling, then you need to be feeding a set calculated nutrient mix.

Can you clarify what your nutrient mix is?

How do your roots look and smell? Can you get pictures?

Yes - targeting 5.8 but records indicate the next morning they have tended toward 6.1

Next what are your res Temps? - they have slowly been lowering from 70 to 66 this morning ( over the course of weeks)

How about the temperature of your room in general including humidity? Max temp 75 when lights on, Lows have been around 64. Humidity lately higher at 40-70 where last month we were stuck around 40% with the lights on the whole time.

My main nutrient has been botanicare pure blend pro. I have Very hard water - TDS will read 550 straight out the tap. I have taken to hauling OR water from Walmart but need to get a RO unit. That being said when I did the reservoir change it was about 4/1 RO to hard. In trying to save the wilting JB I have taken to just OR and added a Cal-Ma along with the water max and H2O2 mentioned.

All of the roots that can be seen are bright and white. Of the two JB, the one wilting only has a few roots, the one that is good has seen the roots explode over the last couple days. Probably 10 times what the other one has.

Those are all good stats, except the water, so I would focus on a couple things. Check and double check your pH pen.

Then, when your pH comes up over night what happens to your water level? And ppm?

Ideally you would have water level falling, ppm falling and slightly less rise in pH than what you have.

I have been able to address the wilting problem in all of the plants now. Watermax is what the guy at the hydro store recommended and it addressed that problem. I was using H2O2, but I am guessing I probably needed to add more regulary.

What I was hoping to get some feedback in this thread about was the difference in the seeds and old seeds.

The three sour crack in the original post we planted at the same time and in the same conditions. The difference was and still is big. I planted two more sour crack on Saturday and only one popped (on Wednesday.)

Are my experiences typical? Was it an old seed issue? If so should I be contacting the folks at discountcannabisseeds to get some replacements? If it typical (the variance in performance) it would seem necessary to plant more seeds than needed thin out the poor performers. If this is required, it changes the economics of autoflower seed purchases.
