Weak seedlings HELP!

yea but thats outside temp. inside ive got my temp set to 70 and with the cfl's brings it to around 75 to 77. its just when outside temps hit lower 30's i had to pull out the hps just soo the babies dont freeze over and die. but they are doin better. Ive just never grown any strain that didnt shed the seed husk like these.

Oh ok I see what you're saying sorry mate. Hmm. That should be good then. Sadly I am not sure what the problem is man. Someone does just be patient. Good luck.

Just bc the top layer of soil is dry doesnt mean they need water. Every 8 hrs? sounds like you have dampening off problems bc you overwatered, Pick up a pot when its bone dry no water then pick up a pot you just watered now you know when they need water. Autos are way more sensitive than photos epsically with dampening off bc of soil moisture. Only other things ive seen cause this is light intensity since your using T5s i dont see that as the prob. Maybe you have soil that making you root rot. When you dug them up how did the roots look white? brown? Seed huld being stuck means you didnt plant far enough down into the soil that could also be the problem did you take the husk off yourself? maybe by oing that you shocked them and killed them has happen to me b4. With autos you wanna let them do their thing, KISS, try using less water thats what killed my forst 5 seedlings LOL made me think s60 had weak genes but really it was me being a noob grower. I was in your shoes before go read others grow journals and you will see alot of other people have seedlings die off with no reason.

Also i noticed you said you used peat pellets with no probs before. Many people on here have actually noticed that peat itself makes ph unstable and usally swings higher than what canna needs. Most people who have no probs with peat and photos tried peat with autos and theres always a prob autos dnt like peat for some reason try coco coir havnt really seen people having probs with that stuff and autos plus ph does swing like it does with peat.

What kind of water are you using ? Sometimes tap water has to many contaminants in it if your using tap water let it sit for 24 hrs before using to get all the chlorine out. Or you can buy water conditoner from a petstore. If you using bottled water try to buy R/O water reversed osmosis treated water and they should list the ph of that water on the manufacturers website. Just make sure you know what ph the water your using is around 5.8-6.8 and make sure the water running off your pots matches that ph range also. Whats you runoff ph now?

im using the ol' windmill water. it doesnt have anything in it and its ph neutral. I think my problem was temps fluctuating too much. at the moment they are doing ok. I do have botanicare pure earth soiless mix. which is coir and leonardite. i was hoping to wait on that till they et alittle bigger. at least waiting till this grow atleast their 2nd or 3nd node. Thanks everyone for stoppin in to help i will be posting a grow log soon soo all may watch.

Peat is acidic... which means the pH is lower than neutral... not higher, which could be causing a problem. I am curious about one thing... what method are you using to read your water pH?

I frequently have seedlings come out of the ground with the husk still on. If you give it a day or so, as the seedling grows, the husk will usually fall off. I have taken them off before and it is easier to do without hurting them, if you let them get completely out of the ground and standing up.

As is always the case, pictures will go a long way toward telling experienced growers how to help.

If you need further assistance, feel free to contact Muddy, Jackal, or myself directly. :peace:

I water maybe every 8 hrs but these little peat pellets dry out pretty quick. for right now temps during the day are alittle higher than at night soo it varies with drying out. i make sure they dry out then wait a awhile before watering. ive gotten root rot from a skunk #1 i grew out. long story short i had to spray the roots with water+h2o2 and put it in an aquaponics system. it ended up male from either genetics or stress. i learned my lesson from root rot. thats why i went and bought botanicare readygro bags. all it is is coco coir, perlite, and leonardite. plus i have cal/mag,sweet berry, and clearex. plus sum regular ol bloom nutes 15,30,15. i hope this will work cuz i am broke.

im pretty much done with the infirmiry. wihin a week or soo ill be posting my grow journal. another week or so and i will know for sure which seedlings wil make it. i know for sure that one snowryder both hbd and the shot adrenaline is going to make it. one snowryder is sideways and smilling at me. it may make it but wont know till another week.
