Watts per sq ft. How many watts in your grow space

At 50+ watts/sqft, you should be running CO2! You can calculate PPF by using a cheap, lumen based light meter, there is a conversion for lumens to PPF. If you over 850-900 PPF, your producing more light than your plants can use without a CO2 boost.

:smokeit:
i have a 4 x 4 space with 250watts of led and 400-600watts of hps so either ( if my maths are right )
53.12w/ sq ft at 850 watts fro the wall
40.62w/sq ft at 650 watts from the wall
is this good is this bad iv no idea to be honest :smokeit:
il come back with the gpw in 5 weeks this is the first proper run with this much light
9 plants jammed wall to wall :smoking:pineapple and gelato41
your all welcome to come have a look first link below
just started my new ongoing/ perpetual thread

50+

That was the formula for HPS. LED reccomends 35watts /sqft for led without CO2.

I'm running 23-25 watts average over three tents. I'm expecting to hit about 1.5 gpw this grow in one tent with a 12 plant SOG. Not a record but very acceptable from 375 watts of lighting in a 4x4 tent.

 I was told early on you needed 50 watts per sq ft could you imagine many autocobs over my space

I have one of the original 55W autocobs, I have to ask....

You ever hit your head on those ****ing things? Asking for a friend. lol
Several times :crying: one of the reasons I now crawl between my plants to feed

I'm running 3 of the 55-watt autocobs in a 2.5' x 7' area with 5 ' of headroom. 9.43w per sq. foot. I've run up to 8 plants at once and they all were happy with decent yields. My wife is happy with the power bill so I'm happy with all of it.
