Ok, so this is photo breeding but I think I have the right spot for the question.

I have four dj short vanilluna female plants that I have been flowering and revegging since October. Stress testing... Just got some nanners popping off of these two but only in a couple spots, new buds forming all over with white fresh hairs. Question: I plan on culling these two from my breeding program but would like to experiment with them to see what kind of seeds I can get. DJ Short gear isn't always super stable but the amount of abuse these have taken is months past even the most novice miracle grow solo cup disaster. ANYHOO, for fun I sprayed one of the tops with a ton of CS (I know, every day, several times sometimes, not so late in flower), not really looking for a tutorial but any guesses? Might the nanners be encouraged by the spray?

Other, main question:
I dumped some on the roots along with a bunch of Superthrive... Watering with the CS??? Thoughts??? Maybe might encourage the insanity going on in that plant and pop more yellow flowers??? We'll all see, I guess.

Other two females are being pollinated by a male Shiatsu Kush who has a single pistil growing from each mature pollen sack and a ton of resin. I gotta take pics but I've read that distinct males that display female traits are good. I like him.

Salutations Johnny AwesomeSeeds,

Thank you! It's too late for me but i hoped for this sort of post for quite a long time as i once happened to be curious about ways to use Colloidal Silver myself, to obtain Cannatonic female pollen for breeding with Purple Ryder #2 autofems, hoping to get more CBD while keeping the auto feature, ideally... That was blaunt and i went even deeper with a project that i later cancelled (unfortunately):

Essentially my intent was to use CS sprays at 2 different concentration levels, in an effort to determine where's the threshold between miticide and sex hormone applications.

Watering with the CS??? Thoughts???

I was thinking the root system needed it's beneficial baterias so if that could have been verified to be true then perhaps watering with Colloidal Silver solutions should sound frightening me a little. As a miticide i guessed it could have been possible to kill the eggs in 6 minutes and then rinse with plain water before the plant's tissues absorb the silver, provided this later process would require more than 6 minutes otherwise the eggs die with the idea of saving that spider mite free plant for human consumption via a vaporizer. E.G. of course if it takes less than 6 minutes for the leaves to absorb CS then it's still appealing to have a healthy female plant with male flowers for future pollen harvesting, which would have been "sexy" enough to me as a 1st start...

There are some of my crazy imaginative posts around, Google Images will find more as i re-used those pictures often in many places:

The purpose for current control was to avoid wild variations in CS particle size.

Good day, have fun!! :peace:

I sprayed em... Drenched the roots... Def more nanners... they were already rhodozendilaszilastating or whatevs (lol) so I dunno, didn't seem to hurt them much. These girls have been just taking a beating with heat, ph, every issue in the book since like october and they're... Just kinda shooting out new buds haha I dunno there are a couple seeds growing on part of a plant that looks dead... Just brought some seeds indoors that sprouted inside a hawaiian black skunk haze that started revenging mid-flower in January... Climate change? Haha

Salutations NRKgrw,
Salutations everybody,

...a bunch of little flying things... ...just entered flowering last week.

So, briefly put the question is « what can be done during a flowering phase which has been shown to be harmless ?? »...

Now my question in the present thread remains valid i guess: how much time before live vegetal tissues will begin absorbtion of silver compounds from CS sprays, in a miticide application context for example?...

AFN: The next step (2014-Jan-3)

...i wanted to try CS for a long time, in more than one way: it's said to kill mite eggs!!

...

One big question is about avoiding interference with the female ethylene hormone and still manage to kill mite eggs if present.

:rolleyes2:

More recently...

Essentially my intent was to use CS sprays at 2 different concentration levels, in an effort to determine where's the threshold between miticide and sex hormone applications.

...

Personally i suspect an expected miticide effect might even apply to eggs laid out by these "little flying things"; if so then my next question shall be focussed on Colloïdal Silver vs root systems: e.g. is it possible to reach a "sweet-spot" state where CS sprays rinsed after 6 minutes (an hypothesis) can interrupt life-cycles in nuisible parasites by killing their eggs while keeping the root system relatively healthy??

Taking for granted the hypothesis that a fair water rinse performed 6 minutes after a CS spray should suffice to prevent harmful silver compound absorbtion, which is yet to be commented - not to mention tested, evaluated, etc...

So, if this idea makes any sense at all, a CS spray rinsed after 6 minutes will presumably permeate the top soil where "a bunch of little flying things" has established some prosperous colony... It may fail to help at 1st glance but i don't suppose parasite colonies can live indefinitely without new eggs to perpetuate the infestation. Hence my last question reads as follows: how much time is too late after the 1st "little flying things" are observed?...

:confused1:

Any help?

It may depend what echo this may generate! In any case i'm quite curiuous myself, sorry for my list of questions and a lack of definitive answers. Perhaps i can reformulate if necessary!!

Good luck @NRKgrw!

I personally would not use CS as an insecticide , there are better options for that.

I am not too worried about a few gnats in my organic grow, its kind of natural anyway, as long as its not a problem.
A bowl of vinegar and a drop of soap will help sometimes.

Salutations AKNorthernlights,

I personally would not use CS as an insecticide...

It depends what the final application might be, IMHO. Your input over pollen collection for breeding purposes, for example?? As a relaxing hobby...

:greenthumb:

Personally, i'm particularily attracted to multi-function features. So, in my perspective a healthy source of pollen on every window-sill would sound like a pleasant idea i'd say. Call it "gorilla" cannabic cultivation for lazy elders since the absence of eggs ain't incompatible with autofem seed production - plus an opportunity to appreciate the plant's magical presence, even for purposes excluding human consumption, imply so-called "bananas" and so on, etc.

Spray 'n Forget would be the method's trademark i guess! A dream come true. No infernal chemical warfare spiral, just dead eggs. Nothing wrong with a healthy plant producing healthy pollen, right? Better just pollen (plus aroma!) than having no choice but to cancel the harvesting, correct?... Whatever, etc.

:weed:

Of course, the human consumption part is when i come to ask what's the rate of absorption and such silly things, etc... Not to mention everything i wrote so far requires validation. It's only speculative intuition. Yet imagine if it worked: get the pollen and keep spider mites away as a bonus. Etc., etc...

Good day, have fun!! :peace:
