Are you still using just the starting soil only on the indoor plants? It is so "hot" N. Is this the same soil as the outdoor plants that have eaten out of house and home . Indoors vs outdoors really different physiology.

:pass:Hey MoG! ...... this is a slightly diluted KIS nute pack amended soil, same as the photo's. Clearly, even cutting about 25% with reg soil wasn't enough, but live & learn! It is pretty N rich, that or the N sourcing is fast to break down and convert because a few of the photo's also had some tip curling...
In this case, the plant size is in better proportion to the pot size, I expect not depletion from these, though they are getting a wee dash of PK boosting because of the high N present... I'm using the Rx Blend nutes Big Data part, the PK booster....
The photo's just got too damn big in those 10gal pots, this is the best veg'ing I have ever had for sure! I expected some tapping out, but I didn't catch things in time to stay ahead of it with top dressing and supp' feeding, another live & learn lesson there. As with any such first runs with a new product, the learning curve is a factor! I'll keep using KIS, but I need some better strategy and MO to deal with the dilemma of pot size, plant size, nute reserve over time... This I'll chat with Tad about - ..thinking a staged transplanting and/or more room for top dressing in a given pot size....

So you would have rather transplant later to large pot and I'm trying something next similar but then direct into ground and I'm wondering what you think about multiple toppings purposely stunting them 1wk or 2. I'm looking to get m8ne a max of 4ft tall and a max of 4ft wide much higher and wind is a problem and any lower the humidity coming of the dew in mornings and even the evening can become a problem.

I was just thinking , big plants for small pots , I love ready your posts even though I can't get most of what you use . I always find great info here .
:bighug:Cheers me brudda! We swap info-goods all the time, and you bud results are always in the top tier of all here that I've seen - :d5:

:pass:Hey Fitz'! .....hmmm, well that's one theory. I can tell you my mix was a tad hot, borderline even, but by no means enough to stunt them. Using a smaller first stage pot might be a better way to manage both nute load and size, but how big a pot need to be thought on more,...fabric of plastic too!
Fabric may be better for root management (air pruning action, forcing roots to grow laterally more filling the pot inwardly better, and having them feel the restriction from it?)... Plastic is worlds easier to transplant from though, avoiding root trauma and not having to hack a fabric pot off to avoid that!
It'll be tricky no matter what, the way they grew in this KIS amended soil was crazy, even in cool foggy conditions.
...thinking if one had a 10gal final pot, the middle stage pot should be around 5gal. I start in about 1/2gal pots with reg soil just to get them going, though a mild amended soil would be fine... Stage of growth-wise, keep them in 5's to restrict size some until mid-late veg', plant size depending mainly of course... with different cultivars, growth patterns, etc., this will be no small challenge!
In your case, topping is pretty much mandatory, 4-5th node, and some proper LST...
Let's see what @KIS Tad has to say about all this,...

You could start in a rock wool cube if you were willing to do some hydro. The cubes are perfect for the root growth you want. I do not know how much the root confinement will minimize the size of the plant though. maybe not enough? Then your timing for light hours and transplant by the light of the full moon standing on your left leg.......................... An alternate direction 200 gallon pot and a 10 foot tall support structure. Water only, Oh yeah and a gun turret. Did you see Dabber got ripped off

:vibe:

I would just say in general the bigger the pot the better. More soil means root space is not a limiting factor and you are less likely to run out of nutrients or end up root bound. Even if you have to plant multiple plants in the same bed or container.

:passit: Hey Tad!
I'm under size restrictions for this grow site, I have to keep them on the smaller side. If had put these photo' girls into 15+gal pots, the would have simply grown that much larger, and put me back into the same situation all over again, but with over-sized plants as a complicating factor = :eek1: :vibe::rofl:

So, I need another strategy to manage this, and a staged transplant seems to be a potential solution....

@Waira Have you thought about manifold and scrog or do they have to go through a doorway? or some other site requirement?

Good ? wat are the required/desired grow
