Hey people!

Where I live I cannot find any cal/mag supplements, nor can i find dolomite lime or epsom salts. Soooo.. I have these Calcium, Magnesium and d3 vitamin pills laying around and was wondering if I can crush those, add them to water, let them dissolve and feed my plants with it? I know it sounds crazy but what to do, eh? Anyone ever tried that?

Cheers

The calcium to magnesium ratio is very much like the one of dolomite lime so thinking it could work :)

I don't know why that wouldn't work. I thought of doing something similar with multivitamins but there was a reason I didn't try and I don't remember why.

I have been privately wondering the same thing for a few weeks, and I noticed the Smart Water they sell has Cal/MAg in it. I was laughing reading a bottle of that stuff, it's like it's made for Autos - minus a little ph

Athlete,

I understand that maybe you don't live in the US but in case you do every hardware store, garden center and home improvement store has lime. As for Epsom salt every drug store and grocery store will carry it. It will be in the pharmacy area and not table salt area.

Same thing goes if you live in Canada ...eh.

Thank you, but I do not live in the US nor Canada. I live in a mountains in Sweden :) Far away from civilization :)

Athlete, that's awesome - good for you. I can't even imagine. My family migrated to the states from Switzerland and when I look at pictures of the landscape there I am left awestruck. I'm not allowed to leave my country, so I'll have to visit in spirit form after death......
Back to your question though, if you do give it a go - I would suggest using a less is more approach. Start with very little, and give her time to react. Also, maybe you could try to Google the same question. It's possible someone else has already tried this and has a thread detailing their experience. :goodluck:

yeah Ive looked into higher end cal mag caps too.Id imagine it might be ok. but molasses next time yer in town or prolly easier is powdered mole for packing in.also look to brewing your own HOT teas as to drink them.and cool them down and cut with a lil water if theyre strong and give to plants.for example which Im certain you know already but like steeping pine extractions n needles for the C and various additives from roots ,barks(root cabbages) n so on cut and added to for a round DIY feed thats totally doable.just start easy till ya find the strength...in your region and mountainous range Id imagine you have a pretty well diverse selection of opportunities to gather a good bit when the warmer months come.also you can llok at the rock settlements and full pieces to be crushed.dont know 100% what your geo region has of the top of my head but for example oolite i think its spelled.its a natural rock found in the carabean regions and Im sure you have something similar that could be dried and fed to soil to help to for the long haul and lessen the amounts of calcium needed for your plants.but its gonna take a few seasons to work effectively..well.well really it'll work early on and fast but not for to long lol.but ya man,ya get the gist of what Im sayin im sure.lol best of luck

and imo Id bubble them crushed pill(s) you decide to use over night and hopefully they'll go fully soluable for ya too.so they might work..dunno.a small few chips pre gallon to start maybe?make a paste to use over the course of a few months or less and figure your soluable dosages maybe>sounds reasonable imo.:Sharing One:
