Hey Guys,

so... finally got going with my own grow!
I have some experience with outdoor growing. Nothing serious though, no proper genetics or feeding, just experimenting.

Did a years of plant sciences at university in 2010 and knowledge of plants has further developed since.
It has been on my wishlist for a long time to grow some bud indoors... finally this christmas i enjoyed the first sight of my own plants in mid winter.

I'll be sharing my knowledge, setup and progession with all of you very soon.

here is the update...

First things first...the setup.

For this grow i am using a barrel 80 L as a cabinet. Basically dimensions are 80 cm height
40 cm diameter. This gives me a 0.125m2 floorspace. Micro to the max!

Heres the smart part....
by using a vertical CFL setup i have a 0.5m2 grow surface with every side of the barrel max 15cm distance from bulb. Perfect light penetration all around.
pi x r2 = 3.14 x 0.2x0.2 = 0.125 m2
pi x d = 3.14 x 0.40 diameter = 1.25 m
1.25m x 0.40 bulb length= 0.5 m2 lighted surface
40 cm diameter barrel - 10cm bulb = 30/2= 15cm

Light used is a 125 watt 2700K CFL 5u bulb wich probably puts out about 6000 lumen.
width 10 cm, length 40 cm
Ventilation by a fan, a large pc fan 23cm max. 178 m3/h with speed controler but it probably loses capacity to about
60m3/h because of the homemade carbon filter and air ducts.
Still plenty of air refreshment for a 0.1 m3 space...Also i use small extra CO2 addition via yeast brewing in a bottle.

Genetics, Paradise seeds
auto white berry and opium photo freebee

Soil..coco potting soil from garden supply
tree saver microbial/ myco life root stimulator
Hydro clay pellet subtrate in bottom,
Pot 25 cm diameter, 7,5 liter

Nutes...bonemeal added to soil 1/2 cup/ 5 liter
during veg 7.3.6 npk liquid plant fertilzer
I use potash and molasses in flower after last veg nutes in week 5.

It took some time figurering out how to build an efficient system with limited space. But when al parta arrived it really fit together perfectly.
I believe i managed to do a good job since i havent had major issues yet.

really bushing out already, love that cause want to keep it small and LST later on, you will see.

I had to transplant the litte white berry at 14 days old as she grew out of her pot...just started showing roots from bottom and immediatly i succesfully transplanted
check this progress.. day 14 transplant-day 15

immediatly stretched to the side of the bigger pot. She will get her first nutes this week... half dose of the 7.3.6 fertilizer
the other plant..the opium photo remained in the small pot to slow its growth for as long as possible

day 22, entering week 4

by now they got some veg nutes half dose.
i plan to use this for 3 weeks, 2-5. Next feedings will be full Strenght

during week 3 i tied down the main shoot on the auto white berry, hoping to force it growing under the screen. It looks pretty fcked up at this point but she'll soon recover.
Burning on leaves was caused by the CFL, during holliday the babys exploded and touched the light. White Berry sure loves the nutes...she looking real nice dark green.
Opium had less nutes so shes a little pale.

string was removed at this point, the top just reached the screen.

Back already with another update,
Closing in on real time, today plants are at day 35
but now ill show you the development during week 4, first week of januari

Day 24

the barrel is starting to fill up and its nice to so a lush green canopy through the peekhole.
The opium photo still look kinda yellow here but she needs to stay small for a while to give the auto white berry all the room she needs.

recovering fast from all the bendin, all extra light reaching the lower parts add up eventually


since these girls are really growing at an insane rate now ill be showing how they progress 2 times a week.

Plants always had something interresting in my opinion. When i discovered cannabis and later mushrooms, somewhere half way highschool i was amazed to see the powers plants posess.

I smoke about a gram a day now to help me relax and focus. Normally i would be what some call being stubborn, restless, annoyed. I strongly believe smoking helps me open up and take another thought before my actions and i mostly use it for this benefit.

sadly here everybody started smoking haze, it even hard to geg something else now. So since this haze variaty mostly fucks me up i wanna start suplly myself.

goal= 30 gram a month
growing 2 autoflowers in the same room.
planting one seed every 30-35 days.
now i used the opium freebee as 2nd plant becaus i want to see difference first grow and will take cutting for outside grow later on.

Indeed i will train the plants with help of the screen. I have only a 15 cm space for the plant to grow up along side the bulb, 3cm are lost because leaves burn this close to bulb.
The remaining 12 cm are used to the max!!
i try to keep every branch going up in a semi cirkel around the bulb with 5cm space between bulb and leaves....succesfully so far.

Time for another update,

Barrel is filling up nicely
my white berry is almost touching the screen al around and opium is bursting out of the pot.
This is day 26...a look down the barrel and close up on the opium photo

with the opium i have been bending every fan leaves behind the lower me so i have a vertical canopy. Side branches were put in front of fan leaves to soak up all possible light.
she was really looking kind of stressed... clearly rootbound so i decided to give her some space and she got a larger pot on day 28

Back with an update
we just entered week 5 now
check out the transplanted girl and further LST on the autoflower. She got her last dose of veg nutes today...almost a whole liter of full strength 7.3.6
DAY 29

Opium really seems to like her new home. Stretching a little but thats fine.. ill prune this one to a nice shape and save some cuttings for outdoors. Really healty looking now..dark green leaves and tight nodes.


White Berry
is growing really fast now 2 weeks ago first signs of flower appeare...last week stretching has kicked in. she may double her vertical height coming week. Every time one of my shoots reaches the light or grow taller than the rest i start training.
weave it back one spot in the screen or bend it behind some other leave.

I aim to keep a nice feather shape branching going up in a semi cirkel around the light. also every LST session i pick a few leaves that prevent light penetration and airflow.. never more than like 5 per session . Dont mean to stress them and still want all that chlorofyl doing its thing wherever possible.

Here we are week 5,
day 32

on the white berry the main bud is forming now. slowly overgrowing the rest so time for some more LST real soon.
pistols(lol) are shooting out everywhere and i like to see how the lower branches now really race to try and keep up with the top.

Day 33
Another look down the barrel and a close up on the Opium... nice branching and i think its ready to be pruned. Tomorrow i wil take cuttings from the lower 2 branchins in front and the 2 on top. Keeping it small in height and away from the light.

Hello again,

Plants are now halfway week 6
finally getting this journal up to date, at the moment my auto is in full flower but first lets check on them earlier this week.
day 35
First the opium, she got topped once and now again. These 2 top shoots were saved and started as a clone. These babies enjoy the warm exhaust air now..with little light from bathroom lamp


on the other side,
miss Berry White, Star of the show is filling the screen and the main cola almost grew out of the barrel.
Time for Major Training to stop by...
this bitch needs a sweet session of LST to keep her in line.

i think i has something to do with autorotation on phone when shooting pics. Still...it should be possible to adjust that here right?

next time i will show you some more LST and i finally achieve my SCROG goal...a burning ring of buds
