Trying a couple of photos for the first time. How long do you usually veg for before turning the lights?
like arthur says there no correct answer to this all depends on strain space and pot size a rough guide would be 4-5 weeks veg then flip to flower myself at the moment i veg in 1.6 liter pots for 4-6 weeks in a 70 x 70cm space then transplant into 10 liter pots and veg for 1 more week in a 120x120cm space before flipping to flower like arthur says i like to get decent coverage before flipping here a few pics for exampleTrying a couple of photos for the first time. I have a 2x4 with a new SP3000. Had to buy a new tent for the new light. Its a long sucker but bright as all get out.....Only have 2 photos in it now. Never messed with photos before. Had a GSC and a Kalashnikova photoperiods I wanted to try. They are doing great but I do love the auto flowers because thats all I have tried. After these two I'm gonna load up the 2x4 with four autos at a time. Found it to be a VERY rewarding hobby! Cannot afford the dispensaries in NY for my meds. After much research, this site was a huge help, have decided to grow my own meds! Peace............
Most decent breeders have growing notes on the packaging or online somewhere that says how much stretch to expect. It's important info to know. I have the true GSC clone and she's got a 2-3x stretch easy. In a 2x4 I wouldn't even go a month of veg unless I knew the morphology. I use a 2x4x5 tent to veg photos and grow out autos. Say the pot is 12in tall.. And that your light hangs 12in from the top.. Now you need 12in min between the plant and light.. That means your plant has 26in of max height available. That's not much. Photo period plants usually stretch to twice (2x) the height at flip. So if your tent is 5ft tall, you'd want to flip at 13in of plant height or you risk running out of vertical space.I have a 2x4 with a new SP3000. Had to buy a new tent for the new light.
