I am still a newbie and i am gaining much experience. I am looking for some reading that will help me increase my knowledge. I would like to learn how to read plants better and understand what they are needing. Any ideas guys:wiz:

Hey there akito. I am an up and coming Horticulture student, but in the mean time I have just been googling various searches and soaking it all up,reading everything I can, even if it's about the same thing. It's all about repetition and different experiences with the same thing to know and remember it well. Sorry, I don't have any specific sites or anything I just google things like: horticulture, the study of, studying horticulture for free online, etc. Good luck man.

Reading is super important but experience is where it's at. Keep growing and you'll learn tons!

And with that approach you will surely see some excellent results in time. In my opinion it's THE way to approach growing. Even by sticking around and reading the infirmary threads you'll learn tons about reading the plants and what they're saying.

I'll get you started with an example or two:

Leaf tips burned and crispy, slightly pointing downwards, is usually the plant telling you that it's being overfed. Tips pointing upwards towards the light and interveinal patches is usually them telling you that they want magnesium. Curled edges of fan leaves is usually them telling you that they're too warm.. and so on.

Happy learning. The more you get dialled-in to your plants the easier the grow becomes.

:peace:

Hey akito. These guys are correct. The best way to learn is to just DO IT! With that being said, there are many different books you can get to read that will help also. I have probably about a hundred or so of them. If you want just Private message your email to me and I will gladly send every e-book I have to you. They have really helped me out in the past.

Keep it smoking!
