True leaves

Should I just fire the seed into soil or germ like I usually do and use the paper towel method and then soil?
Everybody has there own fave germ method. I think if paper towels work for you carry on, I personally can't get on with straight to soil.. Over night in a glass of water and onto paper towel, as soon as I see a decent tail I pop em into soil... That works for my environment and me, however other ways may work better for you.. I get quicker germs and better early growth by using this

Its the cheap garden centre version of the expensive canna ones.... 4.99 instead of 20 quid... Its the same thing basically.
Few granules in the seed hole... Lightly cover the granules with a little soil and sew the seed on top of that.
:vibes: :d5:

If planting straight to soil should I put a plastic cup over the seed area until it sprouts ?

I was in your situation and it could honestly be a bunch of different reasons, here's a few that happened to me.

1 The possibility you are overwatering, what I learned from the people here is that you should fully saturate the soil and wait until 50% of the water weight is gone. They do it by feel, you could use a bathroom scale. If the top layer is drying before that just spray it with a mister.
I say this because it looked pretty muddy in all the pictures. You should also not have any run off the first weeks in soil.

2 Your water source, are you using hard water? I had hard water which I didn't realize was the reason my plants kept turning out like that.
If you have too much calcium and magnesium in your tapwater it will cause calcium carbonate

3 Wrong soil, there's alot of different brands and alot of them are not suited for autoflowers, usually the "light mix" versions are what you need.

Got home today and 2 of the leaves on the plant have curled up, the temp had fallen to 18celcius as my heater cut off, Intouched the leaves and they’re dry and crispy. Anyone any ideas?
