Indoor Trinket's in for an ounce, in for a pound-Durban Poison/Blueberry

Day 20

The girls are doing wondermous today. Really happy with their progress. Even Laverne set out to impress me this morning. She is starting to reach and come out of her little compact shape. I see her stretching her little branches.

Yesterday they were fed 1 liter apiece and with the same measurements as last time. Next time I feed them, which will be tomorrow am, I going to give them:

1.5ml Micro
1.5ml Grow
1.5ml Bloom

1ml B52
1ml CalMag
1ml Bud Candy

Today I had to get in there and rearrange the tent a little bit. Shirley, the Durban Poison, is ALOT taller than her cousin, so I needed to lower her away from the light a little bit. I hope they will be happy with the new changes to their space.

Since its 4/20, they wanted to drop in and wish you all happiness and safety today.

Thats all for now~!

Day 21

Exactly three weeks down and approximately seven weeks to go! :woohoo: Im kind of excited! hehe

I fed them 1 liter each today:

1.5ml Micro
1.5ml Grow
1.5ml Bloom

1ml B52
1ml CalMag
1ml Bud Candy

One more thing of note today. I found the first pistils on both girls today. :astar: Weeee! Here we go! They are so small that I had to get out the magnifying glass to be sure. hehe

Day 24

The girls are doing great. I think. One is really tall and the other is still very, very short. Both are obviously pre-flowering with pistols poking out all over the place.

Ive been tucking her leaves so the lower branches can peek their little heads out. Shes so short that Im starting to wonder if something is stunting her or if that is just how this strain grows. I guess Ill find out eventually. For now, she is growing and actually has the same amount of nodes and new branch tips as the Durban Poison, just everything is all scrunched together in her short height. She also has the most pistils.

Durban Poison Auto - Shirley

Shirley has proven thats she not afraid to tell me what she doesnt like. I fed both girls the last time I posted but a few short hours later, Shirley was starting to claw just the tiniest bit. To correct the feed, I gave her water only the next day and waited until today to feed them both their food again today, Shirley is going back down to 1ml per for the time being, while Laverne will continue to get 1.5. Maybe Ill try 1.5 again on Shirley in a couple of days. No promises.

Now Shirley is looking much better, the claw is gone now, but Im still watching her closely for any other signs of too much feed. I dont think Ill find any today, though. Shirley also has pistils, but not as prolific as Laverne's.

Check out this height difference with both girls side by side.

When I looked at this picture I noticed the lean of the Durban Poison. To correct this, I moved the entire light over a few inches to her side of the tent. Today she is straight again.

Thats all of our show n tell today. I hope yall have a great one~!

Day 27

Today was a feeding day for Laverne n Shirley. I fed them both the same amount this time, upping Shirley's again to see if she can hang yet. We will find out. Im starting to think that maybe the Durban Poison was mis-marked. It doesnt really look that much like a plant, more like a dang tree. Let me just say, having 2 plants at such drastically different heights is a bit of a logistical nightmare. Ive got Shirley down on the floor now, but she doesnt have much more room to grow upwards. Id like to see her bush out some, but I dont really think thats going to happen. Laverne is still propped up closer to the light. I cant understand why the Durban Poison stretched so much. She has always been 9-12 inches from the light, the same as the Blueberry. Yesterday, she had grown so much that she was about 5 inches from the light, so I had to put her on the floor.

Another difference I have noticed in their structures. The Blueberry is alternating her nodes, but the Durban Poison isnt.

In watching these girls lean to the light, Im starting to think I dont have enough light for 2 plants. Which is pretty disappointing. I was really liking my light, but now Im thinking that my less than stellar harvests are due to a lack of light. *shrugs* I dont know. Im getting to a point where I dont feel like Im cut out for this and maybe when Ive grown out all the seeds I still have, that I might just stop growing. Then again, maybe Im just having a bad day.

Anyway, here they are in all their weirdness.

Til next time~!

I have sad news. I broke Shirley way low on her main stem. I was trying to lean her over just a little because her height was of concern to me. I hardly moved her over much at all before she collapsed. I tried to fix her up, tying her so the break would knot up, but while I was holding her in my fingers to pull her upright, that part of the stem collapsed too. At that point, I gave her up. She still has 7 tops, but they are all long and spindly and just as weak. I dont believe I will continue with her. I think the real estate in my tent could be best used with just the Blueberry. Once she is done, Ill do another.

Im very unhappy about this development. Shirley was to be mine. The Blueberry was for my hubby. Now hubby has a plant and doesnt even really partake and I dont have one. Grrrr! I guess Ill be thiefing his now.

My broken girl:

I'm sorry to hear of your mishap... don't worry well recover with the blueberry. Remember in the future to research the strains a little more in depth or ask around. When I'm planning my seeds I don't worry about what's going in and try to grow all short indica or tall sativas. Just know wich ones tent to be taller in others grows and plan to LST early. It pays to start the bend very early as to not have an accident lol. Don't worry we've all broken a plant or 2. I ripped the root system clean off one trying to bend over. It's a learning curve never give up. Ypu be a master in no time.

Well, lesson learned about putting a sativa and an indica in at the same time. But regarding the Durban Poison's height, no amount of research could have prepared me for a plant to get almost almost 3 feet tall in 1 month. Thats just craziness. Im 5'3" tall and when I stand next to her, she comes almost to my waist. I guess if I want Durban Poison, Ill have to have a separate building just for her. Sheesh!

Day 33

Its been a long week for some of us. The girls are doing as well as can be expected. Laverne is still super short, but reaching a bit more and Shirley is still part sequoyah, I think.

I tried to get a side profile picture, but I cut it off a little. I think you can get the gist of it.

She has pretty little flowers too.

Even with the break, she has still gained about 6 inches since last update.

Here you can see how she is making some new branches, not just flowers in her nodes. Pretty impressive the resiliency of these plants. Im still miffed that she broke, but I still love her, warts and all.
