Live Stoner Chat Tolerance maintenance?

I do this too and don't have tolerance issues while staying away from concentrated and mostly vaping higher cbd strains.

I am working against a 58 year long tolerance curve. most of that time was strictly for enjoyment. over the last 10 years its for medical reasons as well. had a fight with cancer and won.[emoji106]
what I do is 1 stay away from making concentrates, 2 when I feel bud is not doing the trick, I start up smoking sweet leaf. after two or three days of sweet leaf , I will go back to bud and it has regained the effect I want. moderation is a good thing.:d5: otherwise we would all be on opioids :smokeout:

This looks interesting. I saw pills by them on amazon.ca some time ago, but it disappeared. A quick search found this info-graphic from: http://www.cannanda.ca/enhanced-effect-tolerance-blend.html

You could also vape some cbd in between thc ingestion. It should help with stretching the time between thc intake.

Hey Hypa! I can help here.

Funny thing, but believe it or not one of my work roles is substance use counselling. What you are describing is called a harm reduction technique. And yes, it works. I have seen people who drank (or whatever) so much that they couldn't keep a job for more than a day get their lives back in order, without quitting their habit.

First, take a log of when and how much you use. While you are at it, you can note any triggers such as mood, hunger, pain, whatever, that preceded your desire to use. In a short while you will see your patterns of use.
Then, sit down with a rational mind and work out a schedule that is a bit different times, a bit less frequent and a bit lower dose and do that for a while. After a a few days or weeks you can modify the pattern once more, so it is again less frequent and lower. Eventually you will get down to a manageable amount that still takes care of your symptoms. Some people can make bigger incremental changes, some people can make smaller ones. You know yourself the best.

Like Arthur, I make sure I have a variety to choose from... I have 5-6 strains in my stash box at any time and many more in storage. Every week I switch the box up a bit, and always have a range of effects to select from.

Changing it up has allowed me to keep my personal daily use to less than 200mg over the last 6 or so years. 250+ is still possible on weekends and holidays ;)
Considering that back in the day I was smoking over an ounce per month, so I think I am doing pretty good. That same ounce will now last me 3 months and I still get very high.

I also switch to tincture or smoke for a few days every once in a while but tolerance to tincture builds quickly for me.

Hope this info is useful. Go ahead, ask any questions, or even a pm if you want.

Great subject. I'm not speaking to it but am listening and watching.
Cheers
Karl

I find having access to multiple strains seems to hold my tolerances in check, as long as I'm switching it up, I don't seem to have an issue. 4 or more, that way it can be several days before getting back to the same cannabinoid makeup.

Also combining edibles into my day seems to let me really stretch between smoking.

If they're all heavy indica that might be an issue.

Thank you all for the responses. Im sure part of the current issue i failed to mention is that we have gone through 6 out of 8 oz of the same strain. We are up to atound an oz every 5 to 6 days. (Up from a half to 1 oz every other week between us) So im sure a new harvest will help. And as much as i love my created strain, clearly 5 to 7 weeks is too long. Ill keep my planting in rotation instead of doing runs of a single strain. VARIETY!!
Ill definately try the "harm reduction" teq.

Im not a concentrate person... Flower is queen and due to location... Its not easy to come or make. So until i magic my way into a rosin press, ill be sticking to papers and glass.

Ive got a lil sweet cbd left in a jar and ive got kush cbd growing. Its included as part of our medical mix as the mrs needs to increase and decrease her cbd levels for one of her conditions.

Mr. Magoo... Ill look into this sweetleaf... But i always thought i was already smokin it. [emoji23]

Thanks again folks!!

As Arthur said above, rotating among at least 4 different strains helps keep tolerance down.
For us edible users, even changing the recipe can help.
I grow at least 4 different strains each time.

Last night I had some Barney's Critical Kush that had never worked very well for sleep, but after not having had it for a month, it worked better than ever.
But I also used a slightly sleepier recipe.

Great! Absence really does make the heart fonder!
I like sedative weed, and CBN can be a part of that. A month or so, depending on how old the jar already is, can make a devastating difference in a cure.

moderation is a good thing.:d5: otherwise we would all be on opioids

:yeahthat:

I'm curious about what kind recipes are? Inhaled or eaten?

Magoopedia… sweet leaf...……………………..any leaf close to the bud that is covered in thrichomes. when I break up a bud to smoke I peel off sweet leaf and save it in a jar, and after I get a couple of Quarts I make bubble hash. with the leaf.

I've tried dozens of different edible recipes, and have settled on BrassNwood's excellent recipe from the GrassCity forums.
The processed herb can be used to make nut butter spreads, cookies, oils, pills, etc.
Here's the basic method:
1. Decarb dry herb using a verifying thermometer @ 240 F for 40 min.
2. Grind to fine powder.
3. Mix together decarbed herb powder, a roughly equal amount of lecithin as herb, and some oil.
4. Quickly preheat mixture on a stove to 220 F, and bake at that temp for 20 min.
5. Freeze mixture.
6. Thaw, then repeat steps 4 and 5.
BrassNwood says that additional heat/freeze cycles will increase sleepiness due to CBN.
I can verify that tentatively this seems to be true, but I wonder whether it's due to CBN, better thc absorption, or something else.
I'm also uncertain whether the freeze cycles really do anything, and am experimenting with single, longer 220 F heatings without freezing.
I've got quantitative recipes for nutella spread, cookies, and caps.

tolerance is it a good or a bad thing ? i mean when we are young 3 beers il do the trick.few years down the line its a couple of beers to get loosened up then its the shorts.do we take a tolerance break/cut down/mix our drinks ?
im recreationalcan grow more than i smoke,so does it matter that i have to smoke 3 joints to get my head spinning ?
im all for variety

I give unconditional love.:pass: all I ask is to get in to your sample jars.:pighug:
