Hey y’all, as the title states. I am looking for information on how to save a pretty solid looking pheno for breeding purposes. It’s a Mephisto Mango Smile x 4 Assed Monkey. Really a treat of a plant would love to breed it out some. Thanks in advanced!

I am not the one to ask or answer but from what I've read - and I'm sure someone smarter and more experienced may have a better plan so,

Get that silver STS spray, reverse a branch, then self pollinate a different branch and you've got fem seeds. ( I think)

I don't know how to do it with a single plant that is far along or if it's possible. That's the limited insight I've got.

It might be pretty hard with an auto that's already started flowering. Normally with strain I like I make s1's with Colloidal silver or STS. But you really need to plan ahead. I find with all the S1's I don't get a lot of variance. Pretty sure that's how seed banks produce seeds in bulk. So hopefully the mephisto pheno you have isn't that rare and you can breed the next one.

just thinking more on this, worst case scenario the only option you have for saving your specific pheno is to herm it.. The seeds from this won't be any more or less susceptible to hemming than the parent. All plants will herm, it's just a matter of how much stress is required to make them herm. I believe the problems early on with breeding herming plants for fem seeds was they were unintentionally selecting for plants that would herm easy. Maybe do a partial harvest and let a couple branches keep going.

Whether it is an auto, photo, feminized or not, stage of growth, number of seeds, space available, etc. would help with some suggestions...the recommendations you'll get will depend on some of the details :smokeout:
thanks for the reply! She’s an auto, currently about 5-6 weeks in, I have a 5x4 tent that’s got 10 plants in it and a 2x2 I use for clones and early vegging. I did have some males in there that I pollinated a branch of the plant I’m posting about. Ideally though I would like to preserve the pheno itself and feminize seeds from it.

Yeah so I got a bunch of 3 packs with an order I made and got 6 total of the strain in question. The pheno in question is a real standout from the other one i started with it. I still have 4 more seeds of the same strain just not sure if I’ll get the same pheno out of them. I guess I could leave a branch let it re veg, than reverse it and pollinate the other seeds and hope for the best. I’m not experienced in breeding at all this will be my first attempt.

You can’t reveg auto’s like others said it is about impossible to save that specific pheno this late in the grow if this was a photoperiod strain it would a totally different story. Your going to have to hope that pheno is in another seed and be able to spot it early on autos need to reversed early and most breeders don’t recommend do a single branch on the same plant cause timing isn’t the best the pollen receiver should be a week or two behind the pollen donor
