ive got a bag of compost and tomato plant food there for some experiments to keep me entertained as im learning hydro just now. says on the back that it contains a 4 month supply of nutrients. wonder if its something to do with increased nutrient uptake once they start to flower. therefor causing the usually nutrient rich soil to become barron so the plants will be missing out on a lot of nutrients that you might not have even known were there.
Yeah.. I was thinking something similar. When the plants flower their requirements change eh? Fooked if I know all the science behind it but that seems to be what was happening.
