Iv no input on led VS hps but I'm moving to led also next grow I find the last 2 week are the most important for the buds fattening up at 90 days ull be done I'd thinkHey all!
Time for a quick update. Indecisive me decided to go back to my LED light. I didn't feel the HPS was doing adding anything to my grow except for a higher electricity bill, an exhaust system, and unnecessary heat. I've done a lot of research on the benefits of LED vs. HPS, and I haven't been convinced either way. I guess the only way to solve this question for myself would be to purchase a PAR meter and see what my lights are putting out. That experiment will be saved for another day, though. Without making this a journal focusing on LED vs. HID, I'd like to hear some input from people who have used each and their feelings on the matter.
Also, I always seem to get to this point in my grows, and wonder if my plants will swell/put on weight or not. Do most autoflower strains swell considerably at the end of their lives? I'm planning on running these girls till day 90, or whenever I end up moving. Thanks!
Day 62 (4/17/2016):
Best!
Lovely looking plant broTime for another update. My girl is finally maturing. About 30-40% of the pistils are turning brown (buds directly under the light are further along than the side colas), but haven't checked the trichomes yet. I plan on running her to day 90, so 22 days till she gets the chop. She's definitely beginning to put on weight, let's hope she continues to fatten up over the coming 3 weeks.
Liquid Koolbloom will be switched out for Overdrive beginning tomorrow. Still feeding at 2L per day. Will continue with Overdrive for 2 weeks and then flush the remaining week with pure H20.
Still under the LED. I'm glad I switched back because outside temps have been high the past week. With the added heat from a HID light, I believe the plant would be suffering from heat stress.
Best!
Day 67 (4/23/2016):
Some great pics bro looking very nice for sureHey AFN, time for an update!
My girl looks like she's coming along nicely. She's really put on weight in the past 2 weeks, but I'm hoping she increases her density over the next 3 weeks. When you look at her horizontally, it appears that every branch is a small baseball bat of bud! Easily the most bud I've ever had on any of my plants.
She will receive nutrients for one more week and then she'll be flushed with plain water for the final 2 weeks of her life. I've noticed a slight calcium deficiency beginning to show on the fan leaves directly under the LED. I checked the runoff pH and it was a little low (5.4). Did a pseudo-flush and raised the pH slightly. I'm not too concerned about this problem because she'll be done with nutes in another week all together. Let's hope for a big finish!
Day 75 (4/30/2016):
Scoped the trichomes last night, 80% cloudy/20% clear/0% amber. (Sorry, no pics! Will add some trichome shots in the next update when things are a little more interesting)
Thanks for following along.
Best!
Loving it so far bro the plants a crackerThanks @Bailey. Your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. Thanks for following along!
