hey everyone , HC here . this is my first grow , i have 2 autos . 1st auto is Auto northern blue from Carpathian seeds & the 2nd is purple express from freedom seeds . germ'd & planted in "Roots organics " soil February 11 so its Day 30 for these little ladies . California is pretty hot & sunny so i put both auto's outside on my balcony to get some fresh air & nice sunlight , unfortunately i only get like 5-6 hours of solid sunlight so i bring them in before its dark & put them under 2 cfl bulbs for the first 2or 3 weeks . recently purchased a reflector with a 400w & 600w hps bulb ,so for the past week they go from sunlight to the hps light . I honestly don't know if this is good , but i figured sunlight is what they grow with naturally & i can't have them 6 on 18 off . And kinda dont want the electricity bill digging too much in my pockets . What do you guys think????
My 1st auto i'd say is doing ok ?, but my 2nd is suffering from excessive n , so i might have stunned it & didnt branch out like my 1st . I just transplanted them a few hours ago , i know i waited way too long :slaps: . (transplanting isn't fun) also gave em a bit of Hormex . I've been feeding them ph'd water ,cal / mag & a fertilizer a buddy gave me . pics rotated when uploaded, i think ?sorry

Hiya HC , I'm a new grower, so I can't help much other than to say that transplanting autos is not recommended. General consensus is that it's better to plant them directly into a suitably sized container as anything that can slow down growth will reduce harvest yields.I see both the girls are flowering. I'm curious about their development. The one in the red pot looks quite different from anything I've seen before.Hope you're enjoying your first auto grow experience. And I think there's no better auto community to learn from.Welcome to the site. Hope you find all the information and support you need here.

thanks cappY . i wish i would've known sooner , the pot they were in was too small so it had to be done . Roots were already gathering along the bottom of the pot . They seem fine but ill keep updating :) :stylez rasta smoke:

Hi Hungry, yeah, I think you waited a bit too long to transplant which caused some stunting but I think you will still end up with some decent buds.

Good decision on adding the HPS, the 400w will be plenty for 2 plants. If you are trying to save on electricity give them a total of about 18-20 hours light per day between sun and HPS and I think they will do fine. Happy growing

oldster , yeah now i'll know better my next grow :slaps:. keeping my fingers crossed for those decent buds :)
