How I arrived here

I cracked my seeds by soaking in a glass of water and leaving in a warm dark place for 24hrs. On the 14 of June I placed the seeds in 1inch pre soaked Rockwool cubes about 1cm deep and gently covered by pushing the edges of the small hole together with a match stick, the cubes had been soaked in a mixture of 1 litre R/O water with 3ml of Formulex ph'd to 5.8. The cubes were then placed in my Propagator with the lid on, I then placed my T5 light directly on top 24/0, although very new to all of this one bit of concrete information I can pass on is do not use your wife's second wardrobe as a propagation area, seemed like a good idea at the time and with all the large boxes my equipment came in, it provided me with the perfect place to store her shoes and clothes, these actions have caused me a great deal of grief! 3 days later all my seeds had all sprouted.

The first 2 weeks went very well with constant growth every day, I did leave the lid on my propagator for the whole time I think this may have been a mistake as small white dots appeared on the stems and leaves, I believed this to be powder mould, This is when things really took a turn for the worse, basically I started messing I changed the nute solution in my propagator to 5ml per litre and added some growth nute from my Canadian Xpress, just to add to these problems I removed the propagator lid and clipped a fan to the edge far too close to my plants drying them all out in a mater of minutes, I removed the fan and the dead leaves, before long my nute solution took effect burning the crap out of the poor little fellows, I changed my solution back to 3ml of Formulex / 1 litre straight away, unfortunately when I changed the solution I must have knocked the control on the propagator pump turning it down, meaning none of the plants were being watered, This went unnoticed until every plant was led flat

At 3 and a half weeks (after I had nursed them back in to a vertical position) I moved the cubes into my 15 litre pots filled with coco, this was too late as I really struggled freeing the cubes from the propagator pots, one had to be planted in the pot.

It was about this point I found AFN, my first question was, as things were going so bad should I scrap the grow? Thankfully several people advised against it, Muddy also gave me some quality information on growth cycle of autos and how they generally don't need the same level of nutes.

So here we are 36 days in from sprout.

As you can clearly see Harry and William are from different family's, I also had a Kate she was tall and perfectly formed as in real life, unfortunately she may have been a hermaphrodite so had to go. I do realise naming my plants is probably taking things too far but I needed something to call them when I'm talking to them, I have been totally absorbed by this whole process.

Please, any advise on what I may have done wrong so far would be great for my next grow. Also any advise on what I need to do next would be appreciated as well, do they need some form of trimming etc...

Many thanks :peace:

If they talk back to you it's time to back off the smoke for a while.:crying:

Tell me about it, you should Google Prince Philips Quotes, its unbelievable some of the thing the old duffer comes out with! Such as:

At a project to protect turtle doves in Anguilla in 1965, he said: “Cats kill far more birds than men. Why don’t you have a slogan: ‘Kill a cat and save a bird?’”

Update..

Things seem to be going ok...

Really happy with things at the mo, still have the leave curling up at the edges I've moved the light a little further away, rather unbelievably we are actually having a few days of summer, even with my lamp switched down to 600w keeping temp below 85 is difficult. When I brought my set-up both shops I visited strongly recommended against LED, I wish I had done some more research on the subject before my purchase, defiantly wish I had gone for a Budmaster 720w, think I'll probably get one for my next grow.

They also seem to be consuming huge amounts of water, I've gone from 30-40% run off to nothing, is this normal??

I've now switched to bloom nutes and my ppm is around 1100 on roughly 2 3rds of the week 1 bloom recommended dosage, is this about right?

As always any help would be greatly appreciated.
:peace:

Nice setup First! Your girls look great bro, maybe a wee bit heat stressed but they'll be fine. Ever thought of getting an air cooled hood for your light rig? That would help tremendously.
:smokebuds:

Thanks for dropping by Rob,

I have seen them about, would that attach to my air intake?

Yup. Check this one out. I don't have any experience with these hoods nor am I suggesting this unit but this will give you an idea on what to look for.
And yes hooks to your intake and exhausts out the outtake. Couple fans one pushing and one pulling, there's many ways to hook it up. :peace:

Nice one thanks Rob,

We are actually having a couple of days of summer and although I'm sure it wont last I think one of these hoods is a must!

Hi FM - Things are looking good, I like the names too, Incidentally Number One Husband Mrs Queen as Philip is known in Vanuatu (where they invented Bunjee -jumping) and where he is worshipped as a god once said "The problem with the British people, is that they think that poverty is not owning a video-recorder" he is a man of his times and if you had to spend your life meeting starstruck people I am sure you would have a few Non-PC moments too.Nice to see you are getting somewhere
