Hi guys.... We've had a lot of great discussions here about many experimental ideas but until now, we've had no "collective" thread to keep track of whether we've tried it and whether or not it was successful. One of the beautiful things about autos is their unique speed ability... making testing fairly fast for some experiments. Lots on the top of my head... pieces of threads lurk all around the forum with this type of stuff. I'll throw down a few good ideas off the top of my head.
:booya: :smokeit:

Let the testing begin!

I cant rememebr who most of the following came from but here ya go... I take no credit unless you see me specifically do so. :toke:

1) Skin-grafting autos to photos to accelerate late-flowering sativa strains to flower faster by transferring florigen through shared membrane exchange.

2) Refrigeration to "stall" a mother after cloning to see if it's clone is worthy of being bred with ( a go-around for the fact that we cant hold a mother and test her clones prior to breeding)

this idea was kinda mine but spawned off the old "Cold Conditions Thread" with mossy and other great breeders from Norway, Finland etc (cold climate mates)

3) Side-by-side comparison of a very stable auto strain with different light-hours for a total comparisoh of yield to light cycle.

(i.e. an 10/12, 12/12, 18/6, 20/4, 24/0 light cycles with same stable strain and enough numbers with the same exact environment and lighting and feed to hold control on everything but light)

I'll bite, auto crossed to hops for daylight neutral low potency hops. Possible use in medical brewing. Think, auto beer :D

fantastic Piggy! Yes.. I have a book on Cannabacea... and how to cross them... from before autos though... I've never had time / location to experiment... but it is definetly on my list... for the same reason no less... for brewing canna-beer! :dance2:

This cute old dyke couple down the street have hops all over and never harvest them. Let me know the name of the book, I should mark off and pollinate some of the branches next summer.....

I think it was a one-of-a-kind bookm as it was handed down to me from a grower whom I'm not even sure the name of... but I know it came from old school.. plan to scan it and share of course. :toke:
