The multiple ailments thread

What kind of vape do you use? I don’t smoke anymore and the thought of having a splifferoo is quite appealing but I’d rather not because I know it’s really bad for your lungs. How does vaping it compare? I’ve been thinking about a combination of vaping and edibles myself but I don’t really know where to start tbh.

Have a G-Pen Elite and a Boundless CFX. Get the grind and temp right and you'll be put on your back.

A cheap way to try it out is to look on Ali for a refurb/return G-Pen and you'll find them for around 30 quid. Genuine article, not a knock off, had mine for almost 2 years now

PS. You also have the advantage of taking the vaped residue, provided it's not blackened, and turning that into edibles or vape juice. In other words, most of your precious weed doesn't go up in smoke so you get more bang for your g

vape -----x maxx v2 pro with small bubbler attachement and for big hits i use an attachment adapter that mates with my bong.... all are relatively inexpensive and saves on material, i.e. cannabis...smooooootttttthhhhhh hits ----no more coughing for me -----also use a volcano, and a plenty both by storz and bickel and a pax -----but they are all pricey.....I use the inexpensive x maxx more than anything

If the choice is between the Mighty and the CFX, then the one at half the price is a better option in my mind, especially when it does the same as the Mighty.

Like yourself, I have multiple physical problems...feet, knee, hip, back, migraines, etc. I use 1:2 thc/cbd strains as well as regular thc strains and sometimes I combine them depending on the situation.
For my sleep problem which is staying asleep after falling asleep, i like to use edibles that I make of various mg. which work better for me since it is my thought they work for a longer period of time unlike a of hits from the pipe/vape/joint etc. I consider edibles more of a "timed released" as opposed to immediate inhaled relief.
I sleep very sound now with at a minimum of 6 solid hours, but mostly at least 7 hours and I don't get up anymore at 3 am for the old man piss stop toilet run. Furthermore, when I awake I am less physically hurting than if I hadn't had an edible.
I have ABV(already been vaped) weed that I postulate may be high in cbn since it has already hit a higher temperature from vaping. I am looking forward to making edibles from it, since my thoughts are it may be beneficial for sleep.
Hope this helps you.

Have to admit I'm terrible for adding the ABV to my yoghurt and muesli, so many options for the stuff.

Thanks guys, now I think about it.... I already vape and have a device that has temp control on it. Can’t I just buy the missing dry herb vapourizer attachment? Has anyone else done this? I’m sure there is such a thing....

You got one of these "housebrick" mod things? If so, the answer is usually "Yes" but I will add a caveat to be careful as some will rely on heat conduction and not convection which generally leads to combustion of your weed, which kinda defeats the purpose.

Meanwhile, no alcohol or pharmas again last night, slept for 3 hours before having to get up for the sort of leak that would make a horse jealous, went straight back into dreamland afterwards for another 3 hours. Pain levels are, for me, perfect as there's enough to remind me NOT to do anything stupid but not enough to have me using a walking stick to move around the house.

And people wonder why I want this backwards country to pull the finger out on allowing at least MMJ (planned for before the Federal elections next year, but the details of who will be able to get the stuff are still unclear)

Great thread @Banjacked ! It's extremely good to hear you're actually getting some sleep and your pain levels are down.

I grow primarily for hubby who has "mobile" arthritis i.e. it moves around, although these days it's always in his right hip. It also sometimes affects his neck, hands, wrists and shoulders. It used to be his knees but it's moved on from there now. I'm at the stage where I want to grow some varieties just aimed at him (I also grow for my adult offspring who use it for rec purposes) and my mother has recently expressed a wish to try CBD oil. She has osteoarthritis in her knees and is trying all sorts of things to get some pain relief (but one at a time so she can tell whether any have an effect or not!). I have a Sweet Nurse CBD on the go to aim at both of them once it's ready but limited numbers of other specific CBD strains - although I do have Stone Dragons from Autoflower Portal which seem to have a positive effect on hubby both mood- and pain-wise.

On the edibles:
I take my worst plant, chop it all up, decarboxylase 2/3 in the oven, throw the 2/3s and 1/3 raw in a slow cooker on low with coconut oil and stew for 2 hours. Strain and put back in original packaging. I did about two Oz's of plant made 1.5 litres of oil. We then keep in a cupboard and add 1/2 to 1 TSP in a cup of soup. Tastes ok and we both sleep like logs. Going to try ghee butter next time.
Does it smell a lot while it's in the slow cooker? Or because of the relatively short time there's no chance for the odour to escape?

Well, the thread's not just for me, my thought is that we can "collate" information in one place as to what works for what with whoever and then get a clearer picture regarding strains, oils, vape juices, and so on wrt various ailments from not only pain but also, as I freely admit, all the way up to mental health.

If we're ever going to normalise at least medicinal across the world, we need as much info as possible because, and let's be honest here, the average politician, and even doctors (I had to educate my GP on CBD), are as thick as pigshit when it comes to the benefits of weed, and that is thanks to the decades of brainwashing about "Drugs are bad, m'kay" which has done more to fuel the very criminal activity lawmakers say they want eliminated.

We have SOME scientific evidence, with even the British Council of Psychiatrists changing their mind regarding cannabis, but the more actual life experiences from people the better as attitudes cannot be changed by scientific studies alone.

I decided to run it by my doctor first before committing to a grow. I expected a negative response but was told “The sooner, the better. If it works for you then why the hell not? Let me know how you get on” He was very clear and supportive about it, we discussed everything beforehand........hell, he even said “the shit I can give you can kill you, at least the weed can’t”
I guess I’ve been lucky..............

I know the feeling, my doc is happy about me using, but prefers me to use via other methods than smoking for obvious health reasons. He went so far as to say how "hypocritical" things were wrt MMJ, as in how those in charge would rather create a nation of opiate addicts, but until I mentioned CBD he had never heard of it as something which had benefits in regard to pain management.

Cheers, glad to hear your sleeping is half decent. (Well, by my standards anyway) We’d have a good, middle of the night, old fella piss contest if we stayed in the same house!
As for the house brick, yup, got me one of those with 300w of power and temp control. Been looking at the Mr Bald II which seems to give the option of vapourising or flat out burning it like a pipe hit.
