Hi, again. :) This post will be my third here today. I thought ever since i was here on AF i could ask a question i been thinking about alot for the last couple of weeks. What strain should i advance to?

I been growing for some time, but this is my first indoor grow thats all mine. I´ve been growing outdoor summers, and kind of been helping out at other small grows, so i must admit that i havent had much practice. But i have been reading alot (my girlfriend thinks that it´s too much). :) I really think that i can get by very well with this grow myself. I think i have more then the basic knowledge i need. Don´t get me wrong. I know that you can never know too much about this subject, but i think that my common sense and my burning love can get me where i want to be. :)

In the past i´ve been growing Lowryder, and LR #2. And right now i´m growing Lowryder F1 that i bought in Christiania (Copenhagen). The seeds sprouted really well (9/10). And in the first round i planted 5 of them and 4 became female and are now about 4-5 weeks old. I planted the rest of the 5 a couple of days ago and 4 sprouted. I hope there is no males there.

Ok, and now for the subject again. :) I have been thinking about trying one of the LR-hybrids. I think that it´s a smart idea becouse i am familiar with the strain. I ordered 5 feminised Easy Ryder seeds that i was planning on using for the third round in 2 weeks. And then, after that. What do you think would be the best strain for me to use? I like the autoflowering so i want to stick with that.

I will grow them in a Sea of green kinda way, and i want to maximize the yeild any kinda way. The height isn´t a problem i think.

So in a month i will need new seeds, maybe sooner...
And then i will have a space for the seedlings, and a space for the big plants.

In the seed-room, that really is an old closet thats cut in the middle. It has the measurments (sorry! in centimetres now, i hope you can read these) 55x55x110, with a 250w CFL, plus a CFL light-fix with aprox 80-100w.

And then in the bloom-room, that really is a Secret Jardin DS90 (90x90x160) i will have a 250w HPS in the beginning. I had to start with a smaller wattage because i have to focus on the ventilation in the tent. It stinks like hell right now. I will get the tent this week i hope.

Ps. 1. How many plants can i have under the 250w HPS at once? Maybe i should think about putting the CFL lights in the tent together with the HPS? I don´t need a seed-room from what i have been reading really. I was planning to do so just until i can get ventilation for the closet.
2. What kind of ventilation would i need for those spaces do you think?

Any help and feedback is much appriciated.

hey hejaman, go to google for a measurement converter, then convert to feet from centimeters, then muplitly the lenght by the height by width and this gives u ur cubic feet of ur grow space, u need this to get a fan that works for ur space, hope this helps:)

A good many of today's dwarf strains have either Low Ryder I or II in them. They are often used as the base auto plant when breeding with photo plants. You should be able to grow just about anything that is available at a good seed bank, with the possible exception of super autos if you have height restrictions. Anything from the Short Stuff or Flash seed banks would be good. Since you are out of the US, you can purchase them through dope-seeds.com. There is also a seed store here, the e-shop that you see at the top of the page. Very good seeds plus the breeders are all members which sure helps if you have a problem or question.

To properly light your whole tent you should have at least 500 total watts of light, so the 250 watt HPS you have won't be enough. Under it you can grow 4-6 plants depending on the strain and size of the pots. Many people with that size tent use a 600 watt HPS. Just remember, the more light, the more heat, especially with HPS. A 4" in line fan would be enough to ventilate your tent. Are you also planning on installing a carbon filter? That will take care of the smell outside the tent.

There's kind of an unwritten rule on forums that everyone posts in the form of measurement they are familiar with. It's up to the reader to convert. I keep a converter bookmarked so I can quickly convert.

Even though you have done some outdoor growing, I'm going to more your thread over to the New Growers Forum. Along with Joe Dirt I moderate that forum. We can better help you there.

I cancelled my order today from a online growshop becouse i´m going to a grow-equipment store tomorrow.

What should i get when i´m there you think. What do the members think i need the most? I was planning to use this tent as a bloom-room. I don´t have a lot of money, so have that in mind. I have calculated the currency from swedish kronor to USD, Euros and Pounds and i have about 430 USD, 330 Euros and 280 brittish pounds.

I was thinking of getting a 600 watt Hps right away becouse i´ve heard that the bulb has a high lumen per watt. What do you think about that?

If you go to a 600w HPS make sure you have good ventilation, they get hot

Hello again. I checked out the website of growstore that i´m going to visit tomorrow. They have like ventilation-kits, and light kits.

I have 3000 swedish kronor, and they cost about 1000 each for the vent-kit, and light kit. and then i have 1000 kronor left.
If i settle for a smaller telt i can buy all three.

The ventilation kit includes a 100mm3 145 / 187 m³ inlinefan, and a 160m3 100mm carbonfilter and 2 meters (6,4 feet) of aluflex hose, cable.

(1 cubic meter = 35.3146667 cubic feet) / (1 cubic millimeter = 3.53146667 × 10-8 cubic feet)
(1 millimeter = 0.0393700787 inches) / (1 meter = 3.2808399 feet)
(1 meter = 39.3700787 inches)

I hope this helps a little bit. :)

The lightkit includes a pretty basic reflector, and a 400w GIB ballast and a 400w Hps (Gib Flower Spectre). And of course it includes cable (9,6 feet long).

And the tent i was thinking of buying is the Secret Jardin DS60 instead of the DS90.

Any feedback is more then welcome. I don´t know what to do. I want the DS90 really. But what can i do?

/H.

A 400 watt light might be too much for the DS60 tent. A 250 watt would be enough for it, and a lot less heat. For a 400 watt light would be better for an area about 2' x 3' or 60 x 90 cm. The DS60 is only big enough for about 3 plants. If you can afford to get the DS90 and a 600 watt light, that would be best. You could also get the DS90 and a 400 watt light and just grow a few less plants.

That fan and carbon filter that you listed should be okay.

Ok. Great. I´ll buy the DS90 then with the 400w or a 600w Hps. I came over some money yesterday so now im up and running soon. I´ll post later today and write down what i bought.

/F.
