Good question, I would say a sponsored event that would involve several parties in a live situation in front of judges and hundreds of people. Does this completely rule out manipulation? No, However this is what it would take for me to believe this 2+ pound claim.

I never said I was an expert, far from it. I would say a good novice if that. I don't grow to break records I just grow enough to supply myself which isn't much. I am more interested in small efficient grows. For example, I max out at 200+ watts but usually run at 150 via 5 cxb3590s. However I have been around a few commercial systems when I visited my buddy in Colorado last year.

Exactly my point, you would not be satisfied with anything short of you watching the plant grow yourself(this is the internet and that wont happen) I mean come on a "sponsored" weed GROWING even that is live? HA that is funny but I appreciate your enthusiasm. I am in Colorado and even at events and shops they are weird about having actual weed plants. Have you ever seen something of this nature? A weed growing event that was sponsored some how with hundreds of people?

You see my point, you are being unrealistic I think due to your admitted lack of growing experience and "seeing a couple commercial operations" while visiting your buddy here in CO I don't think gives you the right to question the validity of a weight claim of a very respected member here. There are lots of expert growers here that have been growing for a long time. I have my degree in botany and I have been growing for more than a decade, that is not to say I know everything about weed and growing it but I know my fair share. One thing I do know is what a 2 lb plant looks like and its about 80 to 90 cubic ft, depending on bud density. That is exactly what this plant is, pushing 90.

You see this is one of my areas of passion, I am trying to dispel two myths. A) that autos are small and B) that they are not potent. I have personally grown a plant that was more than a pound and a quarter(3 of them actually) it is documented here on afn, I provided the hyperlink above.

So as stated above dcat grew an almost 600 gram mephisto(which is not supposed to get big) so why would you think that the largest growing auto strain available cant do 1000? I guess what I am asking is what is your basis for saying that is not 1kg of bud? That you have read a lot on the internet or you have seen a couple "commercial" grows? You seem smart and honestly pretty likeable even though we seem to disagree about this, so with that in mind ask yourself this. How many 2 pound plants have I grown? Or even how many 2 lb plants have I seen someone else grow(in real life) you may say lots but you know that you probably have never seen even one. So if you have never grown one or seen one in real life how you you say what one looks like. If all you have seen is pictures on the internet, all of them could have been manipulated so your paradigm is askew.

Just trust us that have been doing this a long time, this plant is the gold standard as far as a lot of folks are concerned. It is the example I show folks who are haters, doubters and disbelievers. I hope I am not coming off as rude or an ass, I just really really take this specific topic very very seriously

They have competitions like this all over the world. You bring your fruit or plant and they judge. They have cannabis competitions in Europe all the time. This is nothing new, in fact some people have to use a fork lift and crane to bring their plant to the stage. Look up pumpkin competition to get a better idea of what I am talking about. I have yet to see a competition based solely on testimony and photos. I agree with you on autos in every way. In fact the largest plant I have ever grown was from a dutch passion think different auto, even the high was top notch. Is it possible Mr ganjamoto grew a 2+ pound plant? yes, Just have to see it to believe it, thats all. Yes my friend there are legal fruit and food crop type competitions. Not for cannabis, it doesn't exist my friend. In theory yes that would be the best way to "prove" someone grew such and such a plant. But that does not exist, so the best we have with this illegal(in most places) crop is by photos, testimony and a little bit of faith.

I urge you to start a journal and get involved with the site, you will see that we are not like the other canna forums where it is a big ole pissing contest and people bashing others saying they know the best and only way to skin a cat. Here we are legit and most here are honest as they come, now of course there might be some who misrepresent their growing skills and such, but they don't last long because the veterans of the site have been doing this a long time. Sure things like cannabis cups allow licensed marijuana cultivation facilities to bring their bud and have it judged. Oregon was one of the first to have an actual growing comp and that was only for medical facilities and licensed growers. IF you grew a plant that EVERYONE believed was 5 lbs sure, if it looked like a 5 lb plant. Yes Carl is correct however when extraordinary evidence does not exist we have to use the best available information. In this case that is this guy on the internet, who has not only grown this plant but helped lots of folks along the way, who has an entire grow journal from start to finish with photos of a giant plant. Along with lots of folks, who have actually seen and grown these sized plants sayin it looks like a 2 lb plant. That is the evidence you have and you choose to use your limited knowledge base to say you cant believe it unless you see some kind of crazy live competition? I have said my piece quite thoroughly and if you still choose to say you just could not believe it that just lets me know you are not actually interested in anything but trying to argue a point that is mute.

Again I wish you happy growing my friend and hope that you learn the ways of the masters and are able to grow large 2 pound autos like Mr.Ganjamoto. Stick around, grow some autos(I suggest anything by @mephisto) do a journal or two and we might revisit this conversation in a year or two when you have some more experience.
