Hello AFN

I was looking at the seed banks and Iam really puzzled I guess with that THC % some strains give even 22% OTHERS 12% and others dont say anything at all, is that a bit misleading or what ?. "Dancing Psiren"
I know its a matter of taste and immunity to THC yet I feel something I am missing as a new grower here, There are very interesting strains :munchies:which I dont pay attention :drool:or give priority to purchase just because they ere low on THC... :nooo: ???

I mean is that THC % subjective or objective to growing rules?. Can I get more THC from a strain advertized as LOW % just because of my experience or adequate nutes? And get low % from a strain advertised a HIgh % just because of the same factors again?

Hi!

The thing is, THC content greatly depends on the growing environment. Do your best to achieve ideal conditions and the plants may very well end up being of the advertised potency. But then there's the whole ordeal of genotypes and phenotypes. Some strains' genetics are more stable whereas with strains such as the Ghost Train OG (strongest commercially available strain at the moment I believe) you'll end up playing a huge lottery of phenotypes. I'd say it's generally just best to take the listed specs with a grain of salt. Try out different things until you find something you like and go from there.

But don't turn your back on low percentages either. I've heard about some 7% Durban Poison buds having amazing potency. Although I don't know if stories like that are true (and there are many of them floating around), I don't see how it couldn't be seeing as different cannabinoids and terpenoids are still largely uncharted territory.

DISCLAIMER: All of this is pretty much just something I've read online, so don't quote me on any of it.

Well i let my Tyrone Special Test when im in Dam in few Weeks. A Mate of mine does Labtesting for his Agrar Colledge Course and he did already some nice Jobs posting results on Instagram.

Well is THC one specific substance or does it differ like Wine and OUisky? If you want THC whats the point of trying a strain advertised as 12% or 7% I dont even understand why seed banks dis advertise their own product?

I think the ratio between THC and other substances such as CBD determine the effects. Many of the low THC strains are meant for medical use because of a high CBD to THC ratio. Many people deliberately look for strains with as few 'side effects' (THC) as possible. It's actually a relatively huge market.

You re right my friend, Then again there's is no Euphoric High Hop digity nor creativity :gamer:without THC

The combination of all the Thc and Cbd levels must be in optimum Harmony same as the Terps Profile then You have the best Weed. The Mephisto Gear i had so far i can really say from my Expierience(i smoke over 20 yrs everyday) they are both in the 20% Range Thc + a high Cbd Level as the High really expands for a longer Time.

There was a study done that showed that when THC% goes up CBD% goes down. Also when you harvest makes a difference what your %'s are as well as the overall experience, for example if some of the THC degrades into CBN. CBN has a positive relationship with CBD so the canna actually becomes more effective from the perspective of overall cannabinoid profile. The point I think most of us will make here is that THC % is a poor indicator of quality. If you want an idea of how important the synergy is you can try watching THIS video.

Medi,
What role does CBN in all of this? Are you saying CBD by itself is not as effective ?Could you explain this simpler?
