Hello,

This is my first ever grow. I´m about 2 weeks in since planted the first ones. Need help cause the Gorillas are not growing as expected and are less green and more yellowish. They´re still so small please advise!

Some of the mistakes that I´ve made so far:
- Not full watered the soiless mix before planting the seed.
- Don´t know how to properly water the seedlings.
- Don´t know how to properly position the lights for this phase.

The Journal so far:

Germination: Seeds on a cup with Spring Water pH 6.7 on (12/31) for 18 hours, then to a plate with wet papertowl for more 36 hours;
#1 and #2 cracked next day with half inch tail, #3 would let another day sit on papertowel (mistake! should have planted too).
#1 and #2 gone to lighly moisted the mix (mistake! should have watered till runoff before) on (01/02), and #3 on day (01/03); Sprayed with spring water ph 6,7 with about 100ml each 7 liter pot;

(01/05) Day 1: #1 and #2 takes off the ground! GG#3 only came next day;
(01/08) Day 4: Watered again about 200ml each pot with spring water ph 6,7;
(01/11) Day 7: Very little growth comparing my anxious expactations... #3 has some yellowing on the cotyledons and the 3 of them were kinda dry a couple of inches or more, so I´ve watered it pH 6,7 250ml each as a ring around it;
(01/13) Day 9: Cotyledons are yellow on #3 and yellowish on the other two. Dont know whats going on, but researching quickly I´ve read that this is normal behavior, since the real leafs are fine and the plant doesn´t need the cotyledons anymore; Watered about 200ml each;
(01/16) Day 12: They´re are not so dark green anymore and seem not growing at all! Fed them 2,5ml/gal of Sensi Grow A+B, watered solution 500ml each plant. pH 6.1, TDS 277, 27oC. Theyre still so little I was expecting growth by now; Also got Sensi Bloom, Bud Candy, Big Bud and Bud Ignitor.
(01/17) Day 13: Don´t know what do do anymore, lowered the Spider Farmer SF-2000 from 32inches to 24inches! Read about 40000 lux, before was reading about 20000.

Light Schedule: 20/4
Temps: 26-30 C / 78-84f
Humidity: 60-75%
Pot Size: 7 liter
Mix: Mix 50% Turf, 30% Perlite, 20% Coco, Ph 6,5

Tent: 4,5 x 4x5 - 1610D Mylar
Lights: Spider Farmer SF-2000
Exaust: AC Infinity Cloudline T6 (set on 6)

Please save my ladies. Help´em grow!

@KushBR welcome to AFN :welcome: I am going to move this to the infirmary. We will need some more information. Please fill out the form. also some in focus pictures of the problem plants would be helpful.

Please fill in this form: (copy and paste part is below, this first one tell what specifically to include)

-Problem: (brief description)
-Medium/grow method: soil; soilless-- coco, or peat based like Promix, etc. (please provide the actual product name); DWC, NFT, etc.
-Feed and supplements used: include brand, dosage/strength, frequency of feeding and watering (alone); method-- by hand, drippers, rercirc' or drain-to-waste,... N-P-K #'s too if you can!
-Water source: RO/DI; tap- dechlorinated-?..... EC or TDS reading; pH (don't bother with this on RO/DI, do bother with TDS/EC though to confirm it's working well enough)
-Strain and age
-Climate:
night and day ambient T and RH%; res' temperatures; any extremes in T/RH% exposure
- Light used: HID, LED, COB, combo of,... wattage; light cycle hours (20/4, 18/6 , etc.); distance to tops....
-Additional info: How long have the plants been affected?...How fast did symptoms appear?... Anything else you think might be relevant..

--Pictures including WHOLE PLANT PICS, and troubled leaves.. use normal light or flash as other light sources ruin color rendering, critical for diagnostics!

Problem: Very Little Growth for 2 Week Plants

Medium/grow method: 7 liter Pots, Inert Mix 50% Turf, 30% Perlite, 20% Coco, Ph 6,5, didn´t watered at first before planting, just watered about 250ml after planting. After that I lighty watered about 300ml every 2-3 days fearing overwatering.

Feed: and supplements used: Spring Water pH 6.7 tds 057 at first week, last night (desperate to do something about it) gave 5ml/gal of Sensi Grow A+B, checked pH 6.1 tds 277 27oC, 500ml of the solution for each plant, felt the pots heavy for 1st time.

water source: Spring Water pH 6.7 tds 057 @ 27oC. Just got pH up/down today so I can work better on that.

Strain/age: BSF Seeds Gorilla Glue Auto / 2 Weeks

light used: Spider Farmer SF-2000 @ 32 inches (20000 lux) until today I lowered to 24 inches (40000 lux), Schedule 20/4 since Day 1.

Climate: Inside Tent Day Average 29oC (84f), Night Average 26oC (78f). Humidity Range 65-75%, Exaust AC Infinity T6 on Speed Profile 5. There were some days of 30oC (85f) and high peaks of humidity 85%, then I bought a dehumidifier to help. Using a portable AC unit to help on climate as well.

Additional info: First days were glorious... until the first week ended and I noticed little development. Second week days passed by on terror for no growth at all. Nuted them all last night with AN Sensi Grow at a small dosage (5ml/gal = A+B) and lowered the led lights to 24 inches tonight. Don´t know what else to try. HELP.

The growth in the early stages is underground in the root system but they do seem to be lagging. I still cannot tell by the pictures if anything is wrong but "inert turf" can you be more specific - brand name, NPK data. if none of the things in your soil mix was precharged with nutrients then they are hungry.

This is the strength AN recommends and really you should use the other products in the base line as well:

Did you buy prewashed and charged coco or wash and pre-charge the coco with cal-mag yourself? You also need to know the PH of the soil in the root zone. For this you need a good soil probe An accurate 8 or BlueLab soil probe. The knock off of the Accurate 8 is ok but cheaper models are a waste of money. I know AN is not supposed to go wonky on PH but it happens.

If you have a totally inert media this would make this a Hydro style grow and they need nutrients from day one and a PH range 5.6 to 6.2.

Thank you for helping my ladies.

Yes, it´s 100% Inert Medium. Here in Brazil we don´t have the option for buying FoxFarm and that kind of precharged soil.
It´s supposed to be Mix 50% Turf, 30% Perlite, 20% Coco, Ph 5,5. Nothing added, 100% inert.

I´ve checked pH of the soil today, with a cheap measuring device was pH 6.5.

Yes it´s a 100% inert media, the only thing we can have in Brazil, really would love some FFOF soil around here to ease up things...
From all I´ve read before doing this, I thought I could go on the first 2 weeks without any nutes, I´ve read that the seedling feeds from the cotyledons.
I only have this AN products for this grow: Sensi Grow, Sensi Bloom, Big Bud, Bud Candy, Bud Ignitor.
I´ve too read that with autoflower I should go 50% of the recommended AN chart.

1579364698511.png

Checked pH (with sensi) before the first fed. 6.0

Should I really have gave Sensi Grow for the seedling since day 1? The first fed was 2 days ago (day 12 for them), with 0,66ml/gal of each Sensi A and B.

Cause in the same tent I ´ve 2x Sour Diesel Auto planted a week later, they´re on day 5. Only water until now! But I have to water the 2 Sours today! Maybe already give them Sensi Grow! Look the whole family:

Two on the bottom are the Sour Diesel Auto (Day 6) planted 1 week later. But they look like all same week.

What ManOGreen said, but they definitely look hungry to this noobie. Oops, just got your most recent post re. inert medium. The babes definitely need feeding. Best to water away from the stems to encourage outward growth of roots.

Good luck with the grow. :goodluck:

I only water max 50ml when they're seedlings, just around the stem. You should get the light back up again since theyre fine with around 20k lux so early on. GL
I´ve watered 200-250ml cause I was afraid cause I havent fully watered the pots before planting and they were very light. Big mistake I know.
Ajusted the SF2000 back to 30 inches. Thankyou for your help!

The Gorilla were fed 2 days ago, soil still very moist, and today I fed the 2 Sour Diesel with 0,5ml/liter of Sensi Grow, about 500ml each. Gonna post new pictures tonight.

Ok so 50% sphagnum moss 30% perlite and 20% coco. This is a hydro style grow and you should have precharged with full strength nutrients and 50 PPMs of extra Cal-mag. This will be a better product than FFOF because you are responsible for all of the nutrient additions and you will know what you have added. I would add some Mykos or other Mycorrhizal - Mycorrhizae.

PH 5.6 to 6.4, Fertigate (to fertigate is to water with nutrient enriched water) the entire pot to 20% runoff every time you irrigate. Since you are behind on nutrients now just go 75% strength and soak those pots slowly to get them fully wet - 20% runoff. Now heft or weigh your pots. When they weigh ~50% less than when fully soaked it is time to fertigate again.

I start fertigation the day after the seedling breaks the surface. Why wait until the seed has exhausted its original food reserve?

The 50% rule of thumb for autos does not apply to all strains or all nutrient brands. I usually start a grow at 50% and increase the PPMs by 10% each fertigation until I notice a tiny bit of tip burn then I back off 10% and that is the sweet spot for this plant.

:goodluck:
