So i replaced my led with my new DIY cob which i think is going to be a great upgrade. Only issue I am having is due to the efficiency of the new set up my high temperature is only running 68 degrees.
I have heard people say that 70 degrees will work is 68 to low? My low is still right at 64 which is what I was running from the start. With the old led i was running 64-74. This is with my exhaust on 1 with a regulator on the lowest setting. I do not want to add a heater if I can avoid it. My thinking is if it is to low I could add more lights for the heat would probably be more cost efficient.

I would say you want a minimum temperature of around 75f had the same problem when I went from hps to led I think you might have to bite the bullet and get a heater I use an oil filled radiator on a separate temp switch keeps my tent spot on even with lights out also have a look at panel heaters I use them when the temps improve don't cost as much to run

I toke therfore I am so naaa

Thanks for the help everyone @Wile e Peyote are you saying 75 minimum high temp? Or 75 minimum temp all the time even when lights are out? I think I might be butting the bullet. Someone suggested trying a germination heating mat. I just don't want to go crazy on the wattage. The one option I have is to take my my intake and hook it directly into the nearby heating vent. I just have a feeling that will be to hot. When I was building this light I was s o excited I did not think about having to rework the whole room.:face::face:

Canna is fairly hardy and most will grow at those temps although 75-85f seems to be optimal.

A relavely low cost footprint would be a 55w(ish) tube heater (like for in a green house)

They're prettuy cheap and dont eat the electricity

Put it by your pots to keep the roots warmer.

Hope this helps

edit: whoops - didn't see the part about not wanting a heater! :D

I'm in the same boat with the temps - thought about adding big ass cfls for side lighting, but went with the easier tube heater option in the end.

It's a bit low. Can you connect your fan via a thermostat?
I was thinking that need to get a thermostat. My only worry is my room temperature outside the tent is 64-65 so it might take forever to get to 75 degrees with the heat these cobs put off. Causing my air exchange to be very low. How big of an issue would this be?. I am going to experiment with this tonight and shut off the my outtake fan and see how long it to heat up. Thank you for the idea.
