I have been using RO filtered tap water on my last 3 grows and have run into a Cal-Mag deficiency around week 3 for my autos. My tap water has a high ppm (500-600) and a high ph (7.8-8.5). That is why I have avoided just using the tap water which contains some beneficial minerals. Also I bubble my water for at least 24 hours before amending, ph'ing and watering.

Should I use the high ppm tap water instead? Is 600 ppm too high a starting point for seedlings and/or mature plants?

Another option is to buy jugs of spring water but the storage of it and the scrutiny from others in the house concerning my need for so much spring water make it a poor solution.

Opinions?

Thanks,
KS

Stick with the RO filtered water and buy yourself some cal-mag nutes :smokebuds:

Mix that R/O water and your tap water around 70% R/O and 30% tap. That should give you a good ph and ppm around 150 which is fine and will provide some other nutrients. Just make sure you bubble that chlorine out, but you said you do. :D

Oh man, yah that is way too high.. That is crazy carcinogen water dude.. 600 ppm out of the tap! Where are you? a sewer? What is the ppm of your water after running it through the RO?

RO all the way cal mag and your golden as stated above!!!!
