I had a lot of thoughts about reflective paint too, like over flat white base. One thing I thought of though, is that some reflective paints might actually be refracting, thus potentially altering the wavelength of the light used. Probably not by much, but it's theoretically possible on paper

The one thing I love about the matt White is how good for photography it is,so much better than the Mylar.

tang that paint looks cool with the glass beads but aluminum is going to reflect alot better. using the glass beads they will pull in the light change it then reflect it back out differently than it went in , in the first place. In other words im concerned that the glass beads will change the spectrum that the rebel upgrade gives you. here is the the old black widow paint mix for home theater screens. the auto aluminum base fine will not change your spectrum and it will make that room very bright because the reflection will be 100% and no less. you will not be able to open that door without glasses.. i know paint!


here is a mix using auto aluminum base "fine" "black widow" reflective paint. remember this is for projectors not street signs or night clubs.

Black Widow EU is a projection screen paint mix version for EU. The formula is

• 4 parts (960ml) of “Johnstone's Covaplus Vinyl Matt Finish” tinted (NCS color code: S 0907 Y70R) paint from Johnstone's or Leyland Trade.
• 1 part (240ml) of “Auto-Air Aluminum Base Fine” (code: 4101) paint from Createx Auto Air Colors.

Note: Autoair Aluminum Base Fine with batch number ending in "S", "S(1)" or "S(01)" have a different formulation and should not be used.


In the UK the auto aluminum can be sourced in 120ml bottles, unfortunately the only source for the fine version seems to be SM Designs in Northern Ireland. Don't use the other variants, it does not work as well.

Use a good quality low-nap roller. Avoid foam rollers as they have the tendency to cause bubbles which leave bright spots on the screen surface.

tang you can also do the room nice and use the extra paint to do up a spot on the wall for this!

Day 40.

There's a beautiful sweet cheesy smell coming from the Auto Cheese now and she has settled at 100cm with just a lovely shape to her,nice amount of trichomes coming thought too.
The Auto Ultimate is totally living up to the name and is now 144cm and rising,massive amount of buds stacked up in the branches so she should look glorious in a few weeks,I think she will take another 40-50 days.
