loads of people do loads of different things when it comes to dwc so no 2 ways are right or wrong, the best method for me is to keep the water at least 2 cm above the net pot and keep it there for the whole of the grow and my reason for this is simple
i wanna encourage just feeding roots into the res, if you leave a gap of 1" or 2" beneath the pots this encourages air roots and corded roots to take shape but its a complete waste, you want 100% feeding roots into the nutrient mixture sucking up as much food as they can and creating big flowers
with the net baskets i create a bed using clay pebbles just above the water level inside the pot and place the rockwool onto this and then cover all sides of the cube with more clay balls to keep it secure, the reason for this is i want the cube to dry out which forces the plant to send roots out searching for food, as soon as the tap root hits the res this sends a signal back up to the plant telling it that all the food is down here which has the effect of the plant pushing out loads of roots
dwc is trial and error at 1st but once you got it sorted out the growth is amazing, i seen the yield on these strains is around 50g per plant lmfao i think that info might have to change after this grow
im running both panels at 150 watts each so ive just gotta sit back and let nature do its thing
pics, the 2 on the left are polarlight #2 and the others are obviously taiga
