When your using T5'S, HO OR VHO's, your Auto's will do much better if you keep the 6500k from start to finish. I wouldn't worry about buying the 2700/3000k bulbs unless your going to run photo's. Also keep the light on a 20/4 on/off schedule. Never flip to 12/12 on Auto's in any light.

Great thread! I'm running a 2015 blackstar chrome 270w led and in flower I add 3 105w 2700k cfl's. I'm seriously looking to add some t5 HO or VHO's. I'm thinking that would make a good mix of light. Anyone know of some sites that have good deals on T5 lights and fixtures? I'm thinking that a couple 2' 2 tube t5 VHO's would be suitable? BTW again great, great thread!

@densemob i love my badboy lights. However, my first hydro Farm enviro grow fixture is def Equal to if not an all around better light. The price is better and the output is awesome.
In my experience, MOST auto's like yhe 6500 the whole time. Though some have enjoyed a couple of red. Critical 2.0 for example did really well with a blend.

So youre saying adding the t5 ho and/or vho lights would add a beneficial amount of good light? my led is 270w blackstar full spectrum which is deffo pulling less than 270w and its full spectrum just an equal amount of red and blue and i add 3 105w cfls 2700k during flower. im thinking that adding some, like two 2' t5 light fixtures with good ho bulbs, one on either side of 4 plants would be killer diller so far the led and th cfls are hanging from the top and i thought that the t5 could go on either side, like left side and right side just above so i can keep the 10"-20" distance. PLEASE let me know if this sounds good or let me know if i could do somethin a bit better. thx and yayussuh! i freakin love this thread! props bro!

That would be a great way to spread a bunch of dif light around for sure. A lot of wires an plugs in the room though. I'd probably simplify and just get 1 4 bulb fixture and scoot the led over. Then rotate plants twice a day. Or don't. Then you could run a comparision in the future. Trial an error.

is there a science behind the 6500k start to finish? a reasoning for that? or just something you've observed from your grows?

Hello,

First time T5 grower, got a 4x8 agrobrite, I have FS 6400k 54w in slots 1,3,5,7 with all the power veg colors in between (blues and reds)
FoxFarm OceanGrow Soil, 5 gal Dirt Pots, mixed soil with some bat guano mix...strains are auto ultimate and auto mazar from dutch passion seeds, and two freebies from Seedsman.. Pink Lady and GrapeFruit auto's.

Hello, And thanks for adding me to the forum! I look forward to learning and growing with the group.

I am looking for some advice as far as growing with t5 fixtures. I’ve been looking at a small grow space 2x2x5 which comes packaged with 250w total t5 fixtures. 4x50w 4 foot (one for each corner) and 2x25w 2 foot (for above). All bulbs are 6400k. Is this something that could potentially work. It’s my first foray into indoors equipment and I am a bit lost in all of the different lighting.

I know no one has posted a recent update on their t5 grow end results....how did anyone results turn out any pics etc...ive always used leds with awsome yields etc..but i bought a t5 4x 55w 2ft ho for a change,basically thay look like a garage light from a distance and dont use as much power in the long run...would really like to see how ones plants turned out....cheers
