Indoor Switching to hydroponics

Hey Billy, I'm using a small air pump that has two outlets one for each 5 gal bucket it has a power adjuster on it cost apx $15.00, you'll need an air stone for each bucket mine is a cylinder apx 2'' long about the size of a quarter diameter, I'm using stealth grow pre-mix, some rock wool, clay pellets, aqua shield, cal/mag,... the air pump is small and quite... it is a 'active aqua' model...you attach the air pump to the air stone and put it at the bottom of the bucket and let the bubbles splash up to the rockwool....so far so good....have you done your homework on how to do the 'grow' part ....ph, changing the water, ppms, and such hope this helps

I forgot to mention I'm only gonna be growing 1 plant :] Yeah I've done all that, been using a PPM meter for quite a while now for measuring out the strength of my nutrients.

or if you get the two outlet air pump you can put in two air stones ...it will give your roots more oxygen..that's what I wanted to do but I'd have to buy a 4 outlet pump...I can't think of anything else you would need....

cooling...is an issue that challenges many DWC growers. problems multiply when reservoir temperatures reach their high limits..
frozen soda bottles of water can be placed in the buckets, but must be replaced every few hours while lights are on...
the airpump should be located outside the grow area...to prevent pushing hot air into your buckets...the pump can be placed in a dorm size fridge to supply the coldest air possible.
insulating material wrapped around the buckets will help fend off a degree or 2 of heat buildup.
the use of ultrasonic foggers, and. recirculating pumps for drip irrigation will also add heat to the reservoir.
IMO

Alrighty folks, just PM'd the talented SeymourBuds for some insight in to DWC. He answered a few of the questions :]

I need two 20 litre reservoir pots, one for when I'm changing my res.
I need a 20 litre/minute air pump. He recommended a 30 litre/minute air pump on eBay (this one)
That also comes with air stones and a 6 way valve. I can block off 4 of the valves and have two air stones in my DWC reservoir for maximum aeration :]
He did mention that DWC grows will be an issue in my tiny tent, and I agree. I really do want a bigger tent but I just cannot find a place to put one, at all, so I have to make do :[ I'd have to knock down a wall and merge two cupboards to get a bigger tent, which is viable but not right now, so I'd be using my ScrOG screen when I get the plant as big as I want it to be.
As for high temperatures in my reservoir, that shouldn't be an issue. I run my tent at 75 degrees Fahrenheit, maybe 80 with a 250W HPS. If it gets too hot, I can just turn off the HPS and run 2x 50W LED UFO panels. No problems! :]

So I think I've figured out everything I need for hydroponics now :] Thanks folks for your help!

EDIT: Just 1 more question. When changing the reservoir, what do I do with my plant & and it's roots? Do I suspend it to free-float/have someone hold it whilst I swap the buckets around? I won't be able to move it after it goes into the ScrOG screen.
