Hi I was wondering about switching from veg to bloom nutes.
On my grow plan I put week 3 I will start veg nutes and week 5 start bloom nutes. Not gradual change just an instant switch is that recommend or wrong?
Also on my plan it says week 4 u should notice first flowers (little white hairs but I noticed them at week 3. I'm at week 4 now and there's clear buds not just white hairs.my missus thinks I missed a week but I'm pretty sure I marked week 3 after planting.so what I'm wondering is if I had somehow lost a week would it be bad for the buds delaying bloom nutes and bud growth or potential?
I have pics to make easier. Also have other question like why does one have obvious better buds forming. Thanks

Here is the better of the 3 (bud wise, also their all the same strain)

Now these 2 as u can see don't have as much one has a bit of bud on top and other is pretty poor compared to the first one

I have taken a couple other pics as had questions about the height difference or if there stretching.I have the light pretty low today the tallest was push up against the light so I raised it a bit more.but the tall one just shoots up overnight.

The light itself is the marshydro 600w reflector series.I liked it as it fills the tent pretty good.this is my first grow and as couldn't find the info online I post to be sure.thanks

Looking at those lovely girls, I'd want to switch to bloom nutes. I don't think there's much of an issue with tapering that change or stopping dead (or continuing mild veg...) and have done differently depending on what I felt the plant needed. When and what you do with nutes will clearly have effects though and theres certainly more experienced gardeners can tell you. Have you read muddys excellent guide?

Thanks yh I was thinking about they might need now that's why had to check.cheers for the reply and no I haven't but I will now.thanks

One reason I didn't want to switch yet is because they've only had one week of veg nutes?

I don't switch until they have stopped stretching usually between day 35-40,....I'am using the 960w reflector and I kept it way higher than yours and just let them grow into it.
Wow I didn't know they did a bigger one.and yh I thought about being close but there not having issues when shooting up and no burn being led.not sure if it's an issue I honestly thought they were more stretching lol soon as they get close I raise it but the taller one just keeps going up.

Quick question do u alternate your nutes and water. So nutrients then water then nutrients n so on.that's what I'm doing but thought if u are not overdosing the nutes and flush properly at the end wouldnt it be ok to feed constantly as the two weeks of veg nutes they only ever get 3-4 doses of nutrients.cheers

There is no need to alternate water and food. @TaNg is one of AFN's top growers and he (and many others including myself) uses a feeding schedule that includes nutes with every watering. Of course this would be in smaller doses than what you'd give if you were feeding once or twice a week. Using a EC/ppm meter to check runoff levels can be helpful to see if you are over/under feeding.

I agree with the above advice that you should stick with veg nutes until the vertical growth stops. Just the presence of bud sites is not an indication that you need bloom nutes just yet.
