Sweet Seeds sweet seeds cream caramel auto

Probably fungus gnat larva. They seem to crop up in soil all the time. I would at least start my search for a cure there. I hope everything works out for ya!

Well from my last post.... which was at....roughly 8pm this evening... every time I put some water on the soil they would come to the top for air I'm guessing.

So here's what I done...

Mixed 1 table spoon of garlic granules
1 table spoon of hot paprika granules
1 table spoon of cayenne pepper granules
2 table spoons of liquid soup
1 table spoon of Epsom salts

Mixed altogether and left to sit for 1 hour and strained it. Flushed out the soil with this mixture thoroughly... its been an hour and a half and I've not seen one signal mite. Could this have actually worked if I caught them at the right time?

Or have I killed the seedling?

Darn good questions...where did you find that recipe?

Sounds like fungus gnat larva. They look like tiny clear worms... I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you have a lot. Then I would get some goGnats.
That mix probably isn't the best for seedlings but hopefully they will be ok.

I did some research and these items appeared to show up in a lot of remedies. So I put them together and hope for the best.

I'll know more tomorrow

We'll see! Die, little buggers, die! - Live, little seedling live!

That remedy should just about clear anything up, wonder if there have been any human trials ;) !! I wouldn't worry about the plant, you putting natural things in. Probably wouldn't make it a habit to do this every watering but once or twice should be ok. You don't want to add large amounts of organic matter to the soil and have it start to go bad. That would be self defeating...

Look into Hydro, deep water culture or DWC. I switched a couple years ago and never looked back, no bugs!

Cheers guys..

Well it looks like they are all gone now. NOt a single trace.

If its The case I should market this juice lol and call it gnatsthewaytogo lol

or "Gnats Incredible!"

Ok guys so here's my latest update.

Few wee pics of the seedling. As she sits now. I have to pay well done to sweet seeds on this as I have never felt a sturdier seedling at this stage even the leaves feel very robust.

No more creepy crawlies either so my mixture has worked a treat.

Going to give her one more week before I add slight mixture of nutrients to it.
