Think Different
Strain report

Grown by BillyWu, May 2012 - July 2012
Journal
Introduction

I'll try and keep this brief. This smoke report has been written to give a personal, unbiased review of Dutch Passion's "Think Different" autoflowering cannabis strain.

This was my first ever grow. I had no prior gardening or growing knowledge/experience before this. Here are my impressions.

The strain

Think Different is one of Dutch Passion's newest strains. It is a variant of AK420 (AK47 hybrid) crossed with a Ruderalis strain to give it it's autoflowering properties. As most people are already aware, plants have different phenotypes (the outward expression of genes), like people do. Each seed is different.

Seeing as this was my first ever grow, I didn't know the tricks of the trade. I believe that with me being a new grower at the time of writing this, I can accurately explain how easy it is to grow and judge the strain without bias.

My impressions

There is one thing I can say straight away and that's this strain is absolutely incredible to grow. Here are a few pictures:

You can find the rest of the pictures on my grow journal, found here.

As you can see, the strain grows incredibly fast and grows to be very dense. This was done under a 250w dual spectrum HPS light under optimal conditions. Sadly, tent size was small and I had soil pH problems later in the grow.

The plant was really easy to care for. I fed it various concentrations of various nutrients throughout the stages of it's life. Here is a rough estimate as to what and when:

Early in the grow (days 5-10): Formulex, Biobizz root juice at low concentrations (0.5mS EC - 0.8mS EC)

Mid grow (days 11-35): Biobizz root juice, Biobizz grow at medium/high concentrations (0.6mS EC - 1.4mS EC)

End of grow (days 35 - 70): Biobizz root juice, Formulex, Biobizz grow, Biobizz flower, Biobizz Topmax (1.0 mS EC - 1.8mS EC)

Not once did I get nutrient burn. There were times where I fed it twice a week and it just soaked it all up. One thing I can say for sure is when grown well, this strain can take a whole lot of nutrients and water to support it's rapid growth.

It's about as resilient as any other cannabis strain. I was unlucky from days 35-60 because I had a case of over watering and salt built up in my soil, causing irregular pH. Despite that though, I still managed to pull my plant through to the end with a whole lot of bud!

Closing comments & ratings

Despite not having anything else to compare my experience to in terms of prior grows, I am still able to say that this strain is absolutely fantastic. The smell towards the end of the grow was amazing. It smelt very sweet. It grows very easily under 20/4 HPS with the right conditions and is a brilliant choice for both new growers and experienced growers. I couldn't be happier with my first grow and I highly recommend this strain

Ease to grow: 10/10 (really, it couldn't be easier! If I managed to get as much as I did from my first grow ever, how much will I get with my next one?)
Quality of smoke: -9/10- (great taste, very potent and overall very satisfying! Read a few posts ahead for a smoke report)
Value for seed price: 10/10 (honestly, what more could you ask for? A potent, fast growing, extremely easy to grow and high yielding strain really can't be topped!)

Very nice report dude. Thanks for this.

Thanks folks :D If I could share a blunt with everyone right now, I would :smokebuds:

:howdy:Billy Wu, you are an inspiration! As you know I'm like you in the growing department though I did grow a bagseed before, I don't consider that one a successful grow. Nute burn like crazy.......Anyway, I'm going to have to find some of those seeds. Too bad Dutch Passions wont send them stealth, I wish they would think different about "Think Different":head: but I believe Attitude might carry..........Never done business with Attitude, but most reviews are happy with them. I can attest to Nirvana and Single Seed Centre being very dependable, but they don't carry that particular seed, yet. :crying:
Sorry I'm rambling on, shouldn't "wake and bake" lol:smokebuds:

Thanks man :] Just trying to make the world a better place for weed in the end :D

Lovely looking TD dude. Any guestimates on final yield whilst waiting for drying to finish?

Could be between 150g and 220g I think :]

+REP Billy, Great grow, you made them beans look good, looking forward to the Smoke report!:thread:
