Hi all,

I have a bunch of seeds that I would like to store for a long period of time. I know that a cool, dry place is best, therefore I have them in my refrigerator in a Ziploc bags with rice right now. Would anyone know of any pods or containers made specifically for storing seeds?

Thank you,

what do you consider a long period??? I have some seeds kept in a wooden box in a drawer that were three years old last spring and still got 100% germ. I have enough of those seeds to keep the experiment running for about another 7 or 8 years at 9 seeds per year. I also know you can keep seeds for 15 plus years if stored the way EOF said but in the freezer instead of the fridge, just make sure when you take it out to open it wait till it has come up to room temp before breaking the seal or you will get moisture inside the container.

properly prepped seeds will stay good for years as well in the fridge. problem with freezers tend to be noobs as a blanket statement.since they are well, frozen and dropped into luke warm or room temp water will shock them and even kill em. so you have to thaw and prep alittle. so a fridge is usually easier is all and works for 10 years if fully dry and stored correctly. but yeah freezer is ideal for longer periods.

NOT in a drawer in a hardware bin in the garage for 40 years, as my old dead Thai seeds will attest...
