hey guys, theres this awesome summer deal going on right now on Attitude seeds yall should check it out.
i plan on starting a major outdoor grow at the beginning of next year (7-8 months from now) and would like the opportunity to buy some auto seeds now so i have some photo freebies to also grow next year.
basically my question is, should i buy seeds now to take advantage of the offer or wait untill im closer to my start date and buy seeds? would it be a problem buying n storing them now?

I am no expert, but I've looked into this via Googling around and everything I read suggested you can keep seeds for years as long as they are kept cool and dry. A lot of folks recommend keeping them in your fridge.

I know a few that keep them in the freezer for years, with no ill effect! The reason being, it simulates winter and the seeds store better. They go from freezer, right to soil, just like in nature and have great results! I buy jars of baby food(applesauce) eat the applesauce, rinse the jar thoroughly and dry, place your seeds in the jar, crank the lid down and throw in the freezer.

yea i was thinking something like that, buying those small baby food containers and have the seeds lay on a bed of silica gel packs and keep them in a dark cool place, the reason i dont wanna try the freezer thing is because i plan on going down to the DR to grow and eventually id have to take them out of the freezer and send them to DR which idk if itll cause a problem taking them out the freezer and not germinating them anytime soon

White rice works well, if silica pack are hard to come by. I leave mine in the fridge, in air tight small tupperware containers with a shyte ton of rice in them. Be careful when you pull the seed tubes(epindorf containers) out and try not to handle them. Your body heat will create condensation inside the seed tubes and ruin your germination, just an FYI!

ithink ill go with the rice way, soo can i just put the seeds in the little jars and fill the rest with rice? how often can ikeep the rice before changing it again?
n ill just go with keeping it in a cool dark place

Self indicating Silica gel is available on ebay 50 x 1g sachets for £2.99

The silica gel will change to blue if any moisture is absorbed and each sachet can absorb a third of its own weight in moisture.

Seeds keep a long time, I store them in medicine bottles, with silica that has been charged by heating in the oven for a while. You could do the same with rice, warm it up will extract whatever moisture is in it and make it work better for you. Ive germinated seeds that have been frozen over a decade, rates will go down, but they wont all go bad.

If you use rice, its good until you open the jar, it should then be replaced if you still have seeds in the jar that will be returned to the freezer
