How do you store your beans if you collect them?
Is air tight better than say a bottle with a cork?
should i keep a little cotton or rice in to keep them dry?
not sure how long some will be in storage but i like collecting strains that catch my eye or tastes.

thanks!

Yup fridge airtight if u can and dark. Rice helps I keep mine in the crisper draw with the moisture setting all the way down. Same 5year old bean germ no problem and just as fast too.

Freezer if you want LONG term storage, seed is a living organism which slowly consumes its energy supply and the only way to stop this process is by freezing your seeds. Before freezing make sure you dehydrate your seeds by placing them in a bag with silica desiccant packets for about two weeks after that then you are ready to store them in your freezer. When you take them out of your freezer make sure you let them thaw before opening your bag otherwise it will collect water on your seeds while its thawing. Freezing and thawing does not effect germination rates as some have claimed.
