New Grower stoner open heart surgery?

I love to smoke. But never before or during work hours. I know I'd get fired just the same but I can't afford to have any loss of reaction time. If I didn't work so close to so many people I would have no problem doing my job but why take the chance of maming or killing someone it's just not worth it

I think there is some argument for a surgical environment being one where there is NO DOUBT that someone (the patient) is being put in direct and present danger. Cutting someone open is serious work. All those professionals out there that do their job high may do so with a large degree of success and very few mistakes. But the stakes are too high for even just one simple mistake when you've got someone's rib cage exposed. In my opinion.

I also like to think, though, that if someone had the intelligence to make it as a surgeon, and they are a frequent toker, they also likely have the wisdom and self awareness to realize it if they were too baked to be going into that situation and take a thirty minute break or something to clear their head some first.

If I was clamming all alone or dredging or even just hanging steel the reaction time wouldn't matter but well you be the judge......
Would you do this job medicated?

Would depend on what I'm doing. If it's a crane and I'm using it to lift a couple new AC units onto the roof of a downtown building with other buildings and people near(ish)by probably not. If it's got something like a bucket shovel on it and I'm digging a pond in the middle of nowhere deeper with it, than yea I'd light up. :)

Idk I'm better at video games when I'm high. :p

Id rather my cardiologist work on me high as a kite on reefer than after argueing with his wife or stressed over anything....all hopd up on some aniexty pills or what not.....il take a stoner surgeon if he has a proven track record

Just stumbled on this thread seeing what was in this section... Interestingly I know several doctors, nurses, teachers and a pharmacist who are all regular recreational users. No surgeons, tho I don't think I'd mind, I've had surgery twice this year (in fact my last op was last week). I think all sensible people know their limits of 'capability', there's a huge difference between having a wee puff, and pulling off a large bong.

It's like the Govt. here citing psychosis (brought on by high THC in called 'skunk' by the media) as a reason not to downgrade cannabis or contemplate sensible debate about regulation and medical use. When you compare super strength weed to imported Moroccan hash, it's like comparing the strength of vodka v's beer. You wouldn't order up a pint of vodka and then drive... but you might have a beer.

As responsible people I'm sure surgeons wouldn't consider doing something if they thought they were too baked to perform their job, and I know in what I do it actually focuses my mind on the job at hand rather than letting my mind wander about.
