Hi all! I germinated the seeds using the paper towel method. Two out of three tails are showering. The other seed cracked open just a bit, I will wait on moving that seed until the taproot shows. I placed the two seeds that are showing their taproot into the medium. I added about a half of cup of water over the covered the seed. Is that plenty of water? I read FD's guide, but am still unsure about the watering part when using the paper towel method.

How long ago did you plant the seeds? The way i was taught to plant seeds is to water the soil before planting the seed, pouring water on can move the seed, push it down or upside down. also the soil shouldnt be to wet, but dont let it dry out.

with your 3rd bean try it the way i sujested and see if it pops out the soil any faster

thats plenty, maybe a little too much but it should be ok.all you need to do is keep the soil moist at this stage , maybe a spray bottle and just mist the top of the soil. you dont want to have wet wet soil at this stage.best of luck with your grow mate:thumbs:

I would say a couple hours ago. now you have me wonder if i moved the seeds at all or stunded them.

To be honest u dont even need the paper towel method. Just place them in cup of good water and wait. DONT mix them with ur finger and try to get them to sink. From my experience sometimes they get moldy. Just dont touch them and they will stay on top of the water. They they will crack and root will start to show. Wait for it to get about half inch to full inch long they plant in soil with the seed head going in first. Im gonna make a thread on this method cause it is the easiest

People are not keen on in-vitro soil germination - but i am looking at a method here that might change that. I'll get back to you if it throws out anything respectable

I agree! i've had really good results with this method

i never use the paper towel method myself either. i use the rapid rooters, or root riot plugs for seed germination and my cuttings/clones too. i just soak the plugs in ph'd water, pop in the seeds and stick em in the tray, fill to bottom of the plugs with plain water, cover with lid, and put in dark warm closet. 2-3 days later...sprouts! really nice and easy to plant em into your final medium too! happy harvesting.
