High everybody! Gonna start my first ever grow journal and hope this is the right spot in the forums to do it. I have a converted computer case at home and a grow cabinet elsewhere that my girls get moved to when the time is right. Four weeks ago I started one each of feminised Auto Blueberry, Auto AK47, Auto White Widow and Low Ryder 2.

Normally, the girls get moved to my grow cabinet ASAP, but it's been cold outside and I've had to wait longer than expected. I've been growing for a couple of years. Nothing fancy, all home made Home Depot type stuff plus the best dirt and nutrients I can easily buy for cash.

In the computer case, I use two 23W 6000K CFLs, starting each plant in a 1 liter container. In the cabinet, I have mixed 45W 2700K and 6400K lights, 315W total and the girls end up in a 2 gallon bucket 'cause anything larger allows them to get too big for the space I have. Plants are moved away from the lights for picture taking purposes before anybody starts pointing that out :D

Anyway, last year's crops were all LR2 and all good. Love that plant. Little smell, nice buzz, easy to grow. Trying a few new kinds this season for variety. In little more than a month, I expect to harvest some of this. Wish me luck and let's all hope Spring is here so my girls don't freeze!

Looks like your doing everything right so far, keep up the good work and you will be rewarded.

Thanks

Thanks. Have had trouble with heat and moisture levels, but otherwise things go pretty well. Also, I only get to check on the girls once a week, so watering can sometimes be a bitch. Anybody got any good 7 day watering schemes? I've been overwatering and putting my pots in plastic bags. Works but not so great.

Maybe none of my business, but why can you only check the girls once a week? You could put plastic wrap over them put them zip lock bags and seal bags around stem.

Welcome to AFN Cash :smokebuds: Some nice lookin' ladies you have there.

Thanks Nam. I own some property outside of the city I live in and there I have, among other things, a shed where my grow cabinet stands (thus having to wait until it's warm enough outside). It's about an hour from here, so I usually only visit the place on weekends. Last year, I sat each of my pots in plastic grocery store bags and tied them off around the stem. Seemed to work okay, but I know I get better results when I water more often. What about the Brussels watering system? Anybody ever try something like that?

And thanks to everyone else. Nice to be heard and for my girls to be seen!

Ok I get it now.Don'y know about brussels system but i take its a automatic waterer if so then you need electricity to run it.

No electricity required. You basically stick a tube down to the bottom of the pot that is filled with rocks (or whatever those decorative little brown lava or clay balls you see in office plants are called). The rocky bottom is separated from the dirt by a holey false bottom. The water stays down in the rocks until the roots suck it up as needed. Ah hell, I can't describe it very well. Here's a link... http://www.gardenstyledirect.co.uk/elho-brussels-planters/brussels-watering-system/

I'm being cheap and I don't want to risk my plants. I should probably just try it on one and see how it works out, but it's about $40 for one so I thought I'd ask.

Oh, and here's a picture you guys might find interesting. At the beginning of this season, I grew four plants in my computer case, one of which was a male so I could make seeds. Here's a shot of my LR2 and Auto Blueberry hanging upside down in a shoe box. These were grown in 1 liter plastic containers from start to finish. I got about 50 useful seeds off each plant. Harvested at day 66. The third plant was Auto White Widow (not pictured 'cause it was harvested about two weeks later).
