I have had,(and seem to be having) a problem with my seedlings. Germination goes just fine. I soak my seeds til they sink, place them in damp paper towels in a plastic bag and on to my seedling heat mat they go. Boom, I get cracked seeds and taproot appears. Here is where my issue begins. Once I have taproot showing I place the seed into a presoaked(wet, expanded) peat pellet. The same type I use for all my non weed seedlings. I have been having an issue with growth from this point on. Seedling will sprout, grow an inch or two then all progress stops. I have been using cfl but now have a mars hydro reflector 96x3 for light. I have a dinafem auto amnesia which popped on Monday but has done virtually nothing since then. It is maybe 2cm tall, has two real leaves which are not getting any larger. Has anyone else had this problem in peat pellets? I don't have this issue with vegetable seedlings, but it seems to be where my problem lies here. I am going to pop another seed and go straight into a pot this time and see if this helps.

Tagster,

I assume you are a soil grower. I don't ever use such kinds of pellets as I feel there is no need. I put them straight into a 3 1/2 inch pot with std compost. Then transfer to final pot. Many will tell you not to go via the little pot and go straight to final pot. You pays your money you takes your choice on that one.

All I will say is, it works for me. Do let us know how you get on.

ps, have you done an intro ? Tis never too late.

Good luck chum, eP.
