Indoor SPZ's Ultimate vs. Gorilla Showdown

nice set up and kit.good work on the tech for gaining more control in germing.
good luck.
:pighug:

Thanks, Archie. The basement is not the ideal climate for germination so I'm hoping this helps. If so, I may build a little germination box for starting my ladies, plus seedlings for my regular garden in the spring. Garden center charges like $4-6 for a tray of seedlings when a pack of 100 seeds costs $2 so I'm hoping to get some use and save some money with this kit.

Front and center Sir. Best lights and auto genetics available. This is going to be good and I feel bad for anyone missing the great show! Please ask away if you have any questions on either the lights or gorillas. I’m fairly experienced in both.

Thanks for stopping by, Sm0! Hey question about the new products in the autocob lineup... I noticed there are the 4000k and 6500k models now!! I don't think those were available when I got my six cobs. If I do build a germination box would it make sense to put one of those other models in it or just go with CFL? Can I convert the cobs I have now to use the new components, and if so would it makes sense to do so to mix up the spectrum in my tent? Just curious....

Another packed tent in your future! Holy Trim Jail batman! Hahaa! Good luck on the sequel! Im subbed up!

Yeah that pound last time was a pain! This time I got a line on hiring some interns from one of the local farms, will share a portion of the harvest in return for a some help working the trimmers!

Let's see if you can blow the tent up @SPZ Here is a pic of single autopot plant that @pop22 grew in 4ftx4ft tent.

Hah!!!! I've learned not to compare my work to the masters and keep expectations down, better for my ego that way! :worship:

That said, with diligence and little luck, things could blow up down in the basement!

Even better, this was actually my ladies first grow!

Well she's got the best tutor I'd say!

you put all 4 in a 4x4 tent, you going to need a chainsaw to get in there....lol! Seriously, you best be prepared with those strains to do some serious, aggressive plant training. Topping, super cropping, and defoliation will be necessary.

Having too big a plant is not the kind of problem that keeps me up at night, but yeah that has occurred to me that maybe I shouldn't have germed all four at once. I swear my friends who gave me all these seeds for giant strains are just trying to burst my tent for a prank! Some of the things I'm thinking to keep things in check:
  • Kill a couple by 'cuase I don't know what I'm doing. The problem could naturally solve itself with a little patience lol.
  • Give a couple away before they get too big, there are growers in the area who'd be happy to babysit
  • Prune these girls like bonsais so they fit into their designated corner, which would be a good learning opportunity
  • Buy another/bigger tent when the time comes(!)

Happy to hear any advice or other suggestions!

I actually grew with cfl before going to hps. What a shit show. Depending on height cobs would be much better for germinating. You can swap the cob out in the Autocob with a 4000k for 55 watts or with a 6500k which is a 1212 that will give you around 35 watts.

Thanks for reminding me to place wood pallets on the floor of my tent. I’m growing in the autopot system for the first time and I must say I will enjoy watching you work.

Thanks man! I tried a pallet but it didn't quite fit in the tent, it was like a half inch too big. I ended up building the wood floor out of some crap dimensional lumber I had laying around (bought some 2X's at Home Depot, won't make that mistake again, huge knots, warps, what a pain). The floor is great, keeps the pots off the floor, the air intake vents up from under the plants, plus it's easy to shop vac up any spills with everything raised.
