Hi all, maybe I'm jumping the gun but I have a seed that has been split for a week and has as yet produced no root. Using the damp tissue method. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi namvet25, fanx for reply, the seed is split 3/4 of the way round and about 1 to 2mm across, you can see what looks like really healthy white but no protrusion.
If it's split and looking healthy it may be stuck in its little "skin" hopefully the root will break soon then you can take the rest of the shell and skin off. Then there 2 starter leaves should start to green up and open after some light. I've got a seed still in water not crack while theres a couple same age starting its 3rd set of leaves. Goodluck with the germination!:smokebuds:
