I am kinda sorta thinking about trying this. Could be a good learning experience for me. But I have a couple of questions ... 1) how maintenance intensive is it as far as watering and feeding is concerned (in soil) as I am a newb and don't have a clue; and 2) IF I can get my husband to join the forum does anyone have any objections to another married couple both in the comp?

I'd say go for it, and glad to have you both!
As far as water and feed for soil, the work depends on a lot of things, but these kind of grows are great for all of us to learn. Here's a link to last years solo comp, lots of great info in it https://www.autoflower.org/threads/16-oz-solo-cup-contest.57097/

Thanks @Renaissance Redneck for the link. I will see if I can talk my other half into it. A little husband and wife rivalry is always fun lol. So go ahead and sign me up. I have lots of choices in Mephisto beans. Just have to decide which one.
