ok I’m currently running a bubbleponics system in my 2x4 grow tent. This is my second attempt because the first one got a slim that wouldn’t go away. So far so good but I was wondering is soil easier? I keep trying to read about it but everyone seems to be all over the place with it. Like hydro seems more pen point when it comes to things but more steps. I keep reading about super soil but some say it’s not good for auto flower and some say they are. Then other say go organic and add nuits. Soil sounds like it has a lot of up side just not sure where to start. Also if super soil is good then what’s a good recipe for it? I have found a bunch by they want you to mix up 50 gallons worth and I wouldn’t wanna mix that much for three 5 gallon buckets so if anyone has a recipe for a smaller amount that would be great. Thanks everyone sorry if I’m all over the place I’m pretty scatter brained when I over think this stuff

What's up bro. I've been using fox farm ocean forest for awhile now. I'm a first grower of autos as well. This is my plant that I topped and lst'd with ocean forest soil. They're actually looking really healthy and I literally did nothing but went light nuts and trained them. These are my northern lights. If you want to go cheaper route I'll say soil. Much easier

Hey dude, no one way of growing is easer than the other. You make it as hard or as easy as you want. Hydro grow you may need to a bit more reading up than soil but once its up and running can be less work... Your right about super soil, you have to be carful with auto's they take a little less feeding than photos. Not saying it can't be done, I'm sure there is a recipe on here somewhere... My advice start in soil, a lot less chance of things of going wrong and you will more than likely reach that all important harvest.

Sounds like biotabs would really suit you. They are slow release fertilizer pellets that you put in the soil before you germ ypur seed. Then its just plain water the whole grow- nice and simple!

If this hydro grow goes south like the last one I’m goin to try soil just wanted to get some idea what is easiest/less complicated way with soil. This time In my hydro I’ve taken every measure to make sure there is no mess ups but since I’m still really new there’s always the chance I’ll mess it up lol.

Biobizz isn’t bad,but make sure ur give it and extra mix up rubbing it between ur fingers and any lumps get broke up and mixed,I think this really does help with the inconsistency problems people talk of,I’d say ur tap root goin down and it has to work its way through a compacted piece of hot soil,u would get burn, hope all that make sense

Try them all dude!

Seriously, the only way you will ever find out what you really like is to try a few methods.

Soil is cool. I think I miss it. Can be a right arse to sort issues though. Awesome with Biotabs as you have a living organic soil which plants obviously love. It's nature man!

Coco is cool. I use it now. Yes, deficiencies show up fast, but you can also make adjustments and have things back on track the next day. Coco is expensive to use properly as it should be treated like hydro, so you'll go through a ton of nutes if you treat it as such.

Either of the above can be top fed, bottom fed, auto fed etc.

Literally a million possibilities.

Hydro - meh. Too geeky for me personally, and waaaay too complicated! :crying:

Soil I would say is easiest to learn about plants and get your skills honed.

You wanna use the LIGHT MIX. Pretty much nuteless so you won't burn anything. No bits of "hot soil".

Get some biobizz light mix and some biotabs and you can't go far wrong as long as you follow the simple instructions. You are basically making a super soil and it's extremely easy to do and grow in.

Then you can also tailor the initial soil mix with your own amendments if you fancy it, to suit your growing style and requirements.

I would say soil and organics (like biotabs) is the best combination for quality of end product. You'll get better yields with most other options, but quality is top banana for me personally.
