Hi Folks,
This will be my first grow in a long long time and my first auto grow ever.
I friend of mine that grows photo's gave me this soil & feed recipe that he swears by, but he hasn't ever done auto's.

Could some of you look it over & comment?

Soil mix:
40 liters =(1.5 cf) Lady Bug Vortex Potting Soil- blended compost, Natural expanded shale, biozome
2.25 KG = ( 5 lbs) Lady Bug Pachamama Earthworm Castings-
8.8 liters = (8 qt.) Perlite
.250 mL = ( 1Cup) “N” Bat guano
.250 mL = ( 1Cup) “P” Bat guano
.250 mL = ( 1Cup) Bone Meal
.250 mL = ( 1Cup) powdered lime
.125 mL = (.5 Cup) Epsom Salt

Feed
3.785 liters = ( 1 gal) filtered H20
45 mL = ( 3 TS) Earthworm castings
15 mL = ( 1 TS) Molasses
5 mL = ( 1 ts) “N” Bat guano

Thanks for any input!

welcome aboard mate. hope you have fun here!
i dont know enough to say yay or nay to the mix but it sounds pretty bloody good to me! Im sure you'll do well with it and I hope you let us all know on here how the mix and grow goes. Nice simple recipes there so this'll be another thread I come back to

The only thing i see missing from your mix is kelp but you don't have to have it, besides that it looks really good im using a similar mix with stellar results so far. are you going to let your mix cook in the sun for 30 days first i highly recommend you do it makes for a much more stable soil.

What kind of kelp? Is one brand better than another?
How much kelp should I add to the recipe I have posted?
Thanks again.

kelp meal is what I add :) That is a lot of guano for a initial mix. That might run a little hot for seedlings so I would use this mix after the are up and growing a little first.
