Has anyone attempted the following or is this just seen as a waste of seed? My opinion on aioli cup runs are just that, a waste of time and energy. Regarded I'm curious if anyone has done it.

420's solo cup with the roots lifting the level of the medium by 3 inches is awesome to see. I have one random seed/start in a solo cup outside right now in the rain. I'm wondering how to achieve 420's results from my mini-grow as my first ever grow/plant that isn't a succulent. I hope I can get quality medicine out of my tiny-pot grow and at least an ounce if I'm lucky enough to duplicate 420's success in my grow.

Good luck!

Are you referring to this Auto Zamaldelica (root mass inside cup)? 420's linked plants are in rockwool. The AZ was bottom-fed, with the roots and coco wicking up nutrient water from a tray. In that case the solo cup is kind of like the net pot in a DWC grow -- it's holding the medium around the stem and main rootball together, but the plant isn't limited to just the water & nutrients the coco can hold, because the tray is the reservoir.

@St. Tom has a bunch of impressive solo cup grows.

I grew a auto Girl Scout Cookies in a solo cup and got an ounce of great smoke
