Hello everyone, smegal here, I started this grow about 4 1/2 weeks ago. I started with 6 seeds given to me from Preston at canna seed traders. I dropped them in water on March 7 2017. All came up save one. Then I planted them in 32 oz. Styrofoam cups and foxfarm soil. After a few days I learned that was a mistake and needed to plant them in bigger containers so I moved them into 5 gal. Buckets. They made the transplant without any stress , but I found one had gotten stuck in a hard peat pod. I didn't know if it would survive but replanted it anyway. It did but was growing slow. After a two weeks one plant showed signs of preflower but by week 3, I could see it was hermied and removed it. At the begininng of week 4 the runt showed signs of preflower still early, but i suppose that, and being so small was from being stressed in the pod . By the end of week 4 another plant was showing signs of being male. By this time I'm questioning the genetics as the seeds came from an individual rather than from a breeder. Maybe they'll all be hermied. That would suck! But then two more hit preflower but they were female. Yea! Three females out of 6 seeds. 50% right on the money. I put the male outside for now as I do want more seeds. After I collect some pollen I'll get rid of the male. Well that brings me up to date. I have three magnum skunks in preflower and one male outside. Also, in my grow area are two photos. Both Come from different weed. I call them idks because I'm not sure what strain they are, but one is a indica dominant and the other is a sativa dominant. The indica bleeds when it's cut and is to be my clone mother. The sativa is to be scroged right after the autos are done. Week 5 for the autos begins on tuesday. By the way I use cfls and organic soils and Compost tea for nutrients. My light is home made from stove pipe and 14 23w cfls. 7 5500k and 7 2700k bulbs. My grow room is a bathroom converted. I took the tub out and replaced it with a shower base. Soon it will be closed in, Changing the full bath I to a half bath. Then with a pocket door, and sliding bookcase to cover it, it will be hidden. Until then it's open.

These plants are growing fast! In two days they have grown over two Inches. The runt is out growing the other two and I have to raise the lights twice each day. I love it. I normally just grow photos, and in organic soil they seem to grow very slow. But these autos grow very fast making them fun to grow.

Today starts week 4. The one I've been calling the runt went into preflower first and is now out running the other two. So I started LST on it. I've been debating whether to scrog them or not. The other two look so good without that I hate to mess with them.

Just a little update. Nothing really to say, everything is going great. They are growing fast and I'm pleased.
soon they'll be tall enough that I don't have to raise the lights or kneel down to see them. I havent been logging their height so far but I will from this point on. They are 14 inches tall now at day 3 of week 4.

I transplanted the small idk today. It wasn't root bound yet but the container was too small. It's roots were starting to go around the bottom. I topped the roots and put it in a 5gal bucket. It should reform more roots to fit the new environment now and get bigger. The skunks are growing nicely. They are 16 inches now! All of the side branches are keeping up with the main stem and looking real good. The large idk is starting to grow some clones. I will grow the clones for the fall planting outside. Autos are, for the most part, hands off. But the photos give me something to play with while I wait. Everything is going great.

Tomorrow starts week 5. Just 35 days and they are 20 inches tall. They are healthy and looking great. The small idk got topped again last night and already the secondaries are starting to fill in the center and 16 new sprouts to fill the net. If my timing is right it will be filled and ready to flower as the autos are finishing. There are a few clone candidates rising on the big idk but they're not big enough yet to cut.

W.ell how about an update. The skunks are 30 inches now and looking great. Week 6 starts Tuesday and I will start with bloom nutrients. I'll use a tea made with blossoms and rose hips. Just a diluted version at first as I don't want them to go into flower too soon.
