Hi there Slew,:howdy: I appreciate you dropping by my thread and seeing my hopeful project. I am not an experienced grower, but instead all the knowledge I have has been gleaned from forums like this one and another great forum, Grass city.
You asked about tieing down, or performing a LST (low stress training) on your plants somewhat like the one I did on mine. Well, your plants are already 4 weeks old and are somewhat larger than mine was when I lsted.
As I'm sure you already know, the reason to lst is to allow all the bud sites equal access to the light source. But it has to be done with supple branches. If you bend one too far and it snaps,:ama: well......now we are talking high stress. Nothing your plant can't handle, but it could affect harvest.
There are many experienced kindred spirits that frequent this forum; I am not one of them. Experienced that is. Perhaps one of them would have a more definitive answer than me.
I am not familar with the strains you are growing, but, as you've seen, at 4 weeks the one I'm growing has a lot of flowers showing, while yours at the same age aren't near that far along. I'm not bragging, just pointing out that yours is probably going to grow a little longer before it starts flowering. So, if your plant is supple enough............maybe. I don't know..... they seem a little tall to tie back to the pot like I did.
Maybe at this point you should just let them go as nature intended and see a completed grow. You have the rest of your life to try another way.
Although your plants look pretty healthy, you might have your room a wee bit too warm for them. Everything Iv'e read on the subject suggests that 85 degrees Farenheit or 29.4 Celcius (yes, I used a web site to convert the fahrenheit to celcius, it's late and I'm buzzed!) is the high end of where you want your plant to be. Even though your temps aren't much higher, they could stress your baby.
As far as the technique of lst goes, there are countless articles in countless forums that cover the subject completely. I used Grasscity for mine.
