Created some fem seeds outdoors using STS. Havent visited the girls a lot, so they got a little dry. Some of the seeds are normal sized, but some are normal looking, but very small. Still dark brown but as small as 1/3 the size of the nicest seeds. They just appear to be miniatures. They are not white or deformed or anything.

Do small seeds have any chance of catching up to regular seeds when the plants are growing or will the plants always remain smaller than they should be?

Ill try to snap a pic to show you the differences sometime soon.

Seed size is usually proportional to the mother's calyx size, which depends on a lot of factors if grown outdoors.
Genetics is a main one but the environment always plays a role to some extent. If a mother plant's size was kept reduced because of drought, then naturally the seeds will be smaller on average but could not pass on the trait in genotype as their size is a phenotype/stress consequence.

I did a little reading and it seems like seeds created later in the flowering process tend to be smaller, maybe plant is running out of resources or something. These were created well into flower, so that could play a part in their unusually small size.

Seed size will not effect your plant size. I have had a lot of small seeds from breeders.

Of course, late pollenation results in smaller, less mature seeds.
If you have many, try popping a few of the small ones just to see if they're mature enough.
The seeds on first calyxes are usualy the most mature and biggest, obviously.

Not only Seed Size can also be geneticly Example Kandy Kush the Spear Pheno (res Privada) even crossed into other Strains the Beans of the F1 are tiny. But this ones are one of the fastest Growing Strains i had in my Rooms so far. Got a f1 Photoperiod keeper of Chemdogging x Kandy Kush and this Baby is barely 8 weeks from seed and already a 70 cm x mas tree.

i had small seeds from Dutch passion and the grow big and very nice,
i also had grown big seeds that come out small plants. all in the gen of seed i think.
