Hey- I need to do a seed run of spyder. I've been considering using small pots intentionally to stunt my plants- in order to grow 10 at once in one cabinet or a cabinet and a tent. I don't like the selections I get popping 3-4 at a time and losing females that I want pollinated if no male pops up. So... Since I have no pollen from any strains anymore I've been considering specifically allowing the plants to remain small- or rather dictating to them that they must. Not ideal- but for a one time run- allowing me to hopefully make a selection from more than one male, and for sure getting to pollinate the females I prefer- it seems reasonable.

After this run, it'll no longer be an issue- as I will have dust on file again- and can use it whenever the right lady comes along...

Obviously stunted plants do not perform as well overall as plants in an optimum environment- but I will still see plant structure- and be able to judge things like early resin production etc.

So- what am I not considering here, with this (potential) run? I'm not too concerned with overall plant health- as I think the differences between a plant growing to the maximum size it's environment will allow is a far different thing than a plant being stunted by conditions that are detrimental.

The analogy I would use would be an aquarium with ideal water chemistry and temperature- you won't see alot of species reach there full growth potential, though they will be healthy happy and even reproduce in such conditions.

My main worry would be "acclimating" my plants to the small environment of the little pots- and ending up with dwarfism in that fashion- but I believe it would take several generations- or at least 2 to really see that take effect.

Thanks- look forward to seeing some discussin on this.
