Dutch Passion Si's Dutch Passion Grow

Also I am having this same issue seems like in right before transition with cal/mag issues.I am using GH cal/mag+ 2tsp every feed and still getting cal mag issues lol I may just need to change my cal/mag to a different one.Maybe the grow more cal/mag ?This Led cal mag thing is killing me lol

I feel you bro if your not seeing results with what you have then increase the amount you give them just :coffee break:

Right I think I'll pipe down on the advice since I know jack shit really on organic growing.. I thought there'd be a bottle of something organic you could just feed every now n' then.. I suppose organics doesn't work like hydro...

Doobie if your plants are showing bad cal/mg def.. You ain't feeding enough, or pH is off.. Up your feed if that's possible.. Your organic? Are you?

I have noticed that cal/mag problems are just something is led growers have to get used too, especially if your organic.I hardy ever check my ph run off, but I have been doing and on everyone of my plants its 6.5-6.6, nearly spot on, and I still have cal/mg issues. My Blue cheese has none, how ever iv found my PK,s do get cal/mag hungry under my GN's, but I don't want to increase it due to high nitrogen that's in it. Just my 2cent.

We were speaking to the guys at canna about these LED cal/mag issues. The canna nutrient guys are s**t hot when it comes to these things, they have lab equipment that you would not believe and have teams of plant specialists. They reckon that with LED there is less leaf transpiration than HPS. The LED basically is not throwing as much heat at the plant as an HPS does. This affects the rate at which the plants can take up certain minerals with Calcium and Magnesium being the most affected. Hence the need to supplement the cal/mag to restore the balance

Hi Tony could you ask the canna guys to bring out a product like silicablast?

Hi Tony

So would increasing the airflow over the plant tops increase transpiration enough to restore cal/mag uptake?

How would the grower know if the issue is down to water movement within the plant rather than cal/mag deficiency within the growing media?

Mr Jorilla.

I started to give doubled amount of calmag,

day5-10 - 1/2 dossage
day10-16 - 1/1 dossage
day16-end 2/1 dossage

it seems to work fo me, as the green has returned
and no nute burns at all.

so next time, I will try to higher the nuterate constantly from day1

0.5ml / 0.6ml /0.7ml ... so I reach 2/1 at day 14 or so.

Cheers, lb

Hi Jorilla,

yes, perhaps increased airflow would do the trick. But the danger of that is that some growers end up doing more harm than good if the leaves get 'whipped' from excessive direct wind-blow if they have powerful fans aimed directly onto the plant.

However, it may not be quite that simple, since HPS does emit large amounts of IR which (maybe) has a specific effect on leaf transpiration. Is that the exact same impact as improved airflow? I dont know but will try to find out from the canna guys next time we speak. Good question though!

Now that some good info..I keep wondering why this is happening to me and it seems to happen either in or right before transition..Maybe with more LEd in a small space you need even more cal/mag?Foilair and watering?Hey can you tell canna for me to stop being such money grubbers lol My grow shop has tried to get them for a year but they want you to sell too much and wont contact them back..seems their product making department is tops but their sales team is lacking in my area LOL
